Absolute spuds.

Can't believe we didn't get Vossy. Shattered.

I know... I sure as shit hope once this trade period ends, we are throwing cash around to rebuild and revitalise our off field dept severely...I am not confident with our football department whatsoever at the moment.

We need a big duo to come on board - Eade, Thompson, Worsfold - coupled with a Sanderson, Bolton, Dew or something. Then a big announcement of the 2 new honchos and an Ablett announcement all in 1 big gala event with fireworks at Metricon etc...etc...

I rate Voss as a footballing entity, he's articulate and has a very good view on the game; but by no means was he ready to step into the role of a senior coach again. He is on record as saying that stepping straight into the coaching role at Brisbane instead of accepting the assistant coaching role at West Coast and doing an apprenticeship was a huge mistake. He just wasn't ready for it, and he still isn't ready for it. He hasn't furthered himself in an AFL coaching capacity since getting the sack; he's had a year and a bit off and the only ripple he's made on the coaching landscape is a cameo appearance on 'The Recruit', so I don't know why he would be ready to be a senior coach now, if he wasn't up to it to a year ago.

He would be a great bloke to have around your club though, especially in an assistant coaching role - and is yet another coup for Port, but I wouldn't be dissapointed about missing out on him as I'm sure it would have just ended in disaster. If the truth be known, he probably didn't even thrown his hat into the ring for a senior coaching position, just another baseless rumour started by some pinhead using this site.

I agree. I wasn't keen on Voss at all.

Nor the Western Bulldogs job. Wants to further his experience more. I reckon there's a plan to take over the Swans one day.

In all honesty I was put off by Dew after watching a few interviews with him. Seems like a great guy and is probably a tactical genius (don't know) but he just doesn't speak well. We need a guy who can make the team want to run through a brick wall. We need a good orator. I honestly think Bolton is the man for the job. ****ing tigernova.
