Any word about the assistant coaches.
Are they being kept or shafted ??

There's a line down the bottom of the article..
Ashcroft said he was unsure if the club would ever return to altitude training
"It's hard to say, we don't know yet what the new coach thinks about it"

He usually is pretty accurate with his speaking.. Yet he said..

"don't know yet what the new coach thinks.."

If we didn't have a coach.. He would of said..

"When we get a new coach we'll talk about it and make a decision for the future"

So there is a new coach.. ???You just haven't asked him about altitude training????

Or am I reading to much into it

Most of the Coaching staff, I would imagine. Seems like the right move though. Hope our fitness doesn't drop as a result though.

The players probably had a fair say in it too. They would know, along with the coaching fitness staff really how beneficial it's been.

They could feel their fitness is ok, but they would gain more from being at home and working on the mental and skills side of things.

I spoke to Campbell last year about last year - He said the hardest training he has ever done was the boot camp that the boys were put through on the Sunny Coast prior to 2011 season. It was run by some strict army dude. Could be worth putting them through something like that again.

Yep , lives at Currumbin creek , supports local footy , always at Salk oval meeting kids. Would have huge respect of the playing group.
Just pester him 24/7 throw money at him...

Voss didn't want to coach.. Was happy in media...
Then bang " ken Hinkley rings him" sends him a empty bank cheque
Deal done!!

Let's start a "Get Browny to the Suns" petition thingy!!

Suns don't need altitude training.
Is this latest move designed to give the new coach more time or
the Coaching selection sub committee more time ?

You lot are so bloody impatient. Thought I was bad. Let them get it right.
Actually I think it's great that they are taking their time over it.

I mean the same people available and/or those the club are interested in are still around.

There isn't anyone to coach / train atm anyway.

They are more likely to make the right decision for the club if the due diligence is done properly rather than a knee-jerk reaction just to appease the impatient pen friends.

Oh, and it's given this thread the opportunity to pass the 100 page mark :rainbow::cool:

Being in the states I really enjoyed the idea of having the boys come over here, get away from the spotlight for a bit and just work on their football.

That said I think we all know the fitness is there, but the skills could use work. let's hope this works out for us. Hell for heat training you don't need to go to dubai...two hours north of Carrara should work at some random oval!

Ben,
Bomber is a non believer of this high altitude pre season training gigs.!!!!!
Bomber feels there is more value in boot camps in Australia, without going to the expense of these USA trips.
Ummh!!
