Yeah possibly. I imagine the bickering would centre around throwing in an extra fringe player or not. Mind you, it wouldn’t surprise me if we chucked two fringe players in because we want a bit of extra currency back to help get Ah Chee across.

You’re on the money.

It would almost certainly be three first round picks and I’d imagine a young player who sees it as an opportunity for regular football (Edwards, Ryan, Bond type).

Absolutely no chance anyone who is in the best 22 is going to want a trade from us to the Saints. Maybe the Saints can convince someone like Butts with some good money and years...?

They don’t have to go to the Saints, other clubs have draft picks to pay for players.

Players nearly always nominate 1 team.

Ultimately they do, but what clubs are prepared to pay at the trade table impacts the ultimate choice. Port would be paying for Davies’ arrogance the other day, Nas won’t accept sitting around whilst Port offer crap. His agent will be telling him that his best chance of getting home is with the club prepared to be the most reasonable at the trade table.

Potentially we have 1 extra first rounder, but valued at less. But I’d imagine we’re going to be prepared to trade out 2-3 players to improve our firsts. Based on Davies interview, I expect our attitude to getting Saints as much as reasonably possible is far superior.
