Peter Everitt announced yesterday he was close to re-signing with the Hawks for a further year.

So, seems he has cancelled any thoughts of going to Sydney. Perhaps Spida now thinks any chances of playing with a premiership team could happen if he doesn't fly the coop. But I think retirement for him will happen first.

Shane Crawford is also nearing an agreement to play out his career with the club. An announcement could be made on a new two-year contract as early as the weekend.

At 35yoa, of course. But I must say I'm very pleased that he will be with us till the end of his illustrious career. If there is anything I hate is the sight of a former Hawk's champion playing at another AFL club.

Very good news. Who knows when we'll be playing finals hopefully this year, doubtful but footballs a funny game. We must aim for them next year and anything could happen. If Everitt and Crawford are with us in two years they'd be a chance for a premiership.

They deserve it because they've been here working hard for the team for many years especially Crawford. Everitt didnt have much success at the Saints.

Hopefully we can win one soon, so that both these guys share the experience. 2008 - we win the premiership with Crawford and Everitt retiring.
