Should he be given another two years?IMO he is still the best ruckman in the comp and we'd easily get another good two years out of him.Should he leave i don't think Campbell ,Bailey and co are yet capable of giving our onballers first look as much as what Spider does.I just hope Jeff is consulting the coaching staff on this decision.Any thoughts?

I don't think he should get a 2 year contract. If the Hawks don't give 2 years to Crawf, no way should they give it to Spider. If he leaves he leaves. Won't be the end of the world. At least we have other prospective ruckmen comming up.

Hard and fast policies of giving veterans only one year contracts is foolish, in my opinion. To me there is little doubt that that Crawford has two or three years left - with Everitt, the risk factor is greater... but still, I'd give him the two if he were at the Swans (and hey, he might yet get there ;) ).

One will be safe. Despite the fact that I agree that he is probably the best ruckman getting around at the moment, few clubs would trade for him at his age and the draft would be risky for the same reason. No doubt he will stay at Hawthorn beyond that as well.

Hawthorn would be crazy not to look after him with an attractive one year deal though, because of his abilities and what he can pass on to the youngsters.

Should be trying to keep Spider. I agree with the policy, but he's still a top 2 ruckman in the league, we need to keep him for 2 more years whilst we blood Bailey and McEntee.

If he isn't demand too much, give him a two year deal with a reasonable salary rather than one year that would be more. I think that's what spider wants from what he said, just wants the security of a two year deal, and he hasn't exactly got injury problems.
