I just Went to take a shit in the middle of the night.

Look up to see a huge white tail in the corner of the ceiling literally above my head.

I let out a little muffled scream and composed myself trying to bust out a shit as fast as I can.

It starts moving down the wall, i finish my poop but don't have time to wipe, so I just yank on the swipe and get the **** out of there. Wipe outside the door and poke my head in and flush.

Lo and behold The bastard has disappeared. It's too late to kill it now and when I wake up who knows where it will be.

Let's put this into some perspective...there has not been a spider related death in Australia since 1979. Yes, that's 35 years. Also white tails also fairly harmless unless you show an allergic reaction to them....again the odds of this is incredibly low.

Last night after brushing my teeth I noticed an enormous (fine, at least 3cm) spider above the linen closet door. So I ran trying to find fly spray, sprayed it and it dropped immediately and went under the door. I opened the door and it was nowhere to be seen.

So apparently the Australian funnel web can be found in parts of Victoria as well as NSW
FYI I took this photo of this specimen in Bendigo this weekend.

Only thing pointing towards funnel web was that it would've been at least 3cm which puts it at the upper limit for size for a mouse spider. But your summation looks fairly accurate.
