I just sent a long-winded email to you Mero regarding this sponsor business. A lot of nit-picking on minor discrepancies, I feel slightly guilty that I'm such a perfectionist!

Geelong.
This took longer than you might think, getting the Ford logo right for each year.

Where are 2003-?

I'm sure there used to be another one of these on here somewhere up-to-date. Also the blue of the Ford logo has changed over the years, between navy and royal blue.

In 2004 they went back to the Ford in a Blue oval bordered by White then Blue outlines. Same as 1992.

But until 2003 the Ford blue was same as the Geelong navy.

From 2004 it changed to a royal blue.

Cheers for this Mero, you've done a cracking job
Yeah, on top of his work with footyjumpers.com the study and art of footy jumpers and logos has been taken to a whole new level by Mero.

Just sent this email to Mero for Collingwood's sponsors. Feeling a bit like Mr Eagle with my OCD towards it all! :):)

COLLINGWOOD
Yakka 1977-81 logo - The tops of the Y need to be even; there's a bit more room around the outside of the Y and the text than what you have. The following is all I have to work off from the AFL Photos website ( I could delve into the record archive if need be) but I'm sure that's fine. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1978/12/12/28719.jpg
Hard Yakka 1985 - Looks like the blue is a bit darker. unsure for other years at this point in time http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1985/01/04/29844.jpg
Mini Skips - I haven't seen anything but a plain white rectangular patch, no instances of grey outline or rounded edges in my searching. The first image is from 1986 and the second from 1988. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1986/11/28/26580.jpg http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1988/12/12/28768.jpg
Spicers Paper late 80s - I'm a bit confused with all of this. A lot of the dates for earlier photos on the AFL Photos website can be off, but I've generally got a pretty good guide of it going by the players and sponsors. However as you can see in these pictures, the blue box Spicers Paper logo was used in 1989 (VFL logo as evidence). http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1989/01/04/29042.jpg http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1988/01/04/29034.jpg Funnily enough the old Spicers logo is visible in the background of Vic Park in that first shot of Millane. Then I spied this picture of David Cloke with the old Spicers logo, which is supposedly from 1989 too. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1989/12/12/28693.jpg My thoughts are that either there were two Spicers logos used in 1989, or that the old Spicers logo was used in 1988 instead of Mini Skips and the newer Spicers logo was used in 1989 instead of the older one. Might have to check out the record archive for this one, as it's my own club I'd love more clarification!
Primus 1998-2000 - Something about your logo just looks a tiny bit off, not sure. There looks to be a slight left italicise in some photos (which would be like their corporate logo of the time) but in other photos it seems non-existent. I do feel that the text should be slightly taller though. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1998/12/04/163424.jpg
Hmm... I think I've found a decent example from 2000. Sewn on patch has no italics, sublimated patch does. See for yourself. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2000/07/30/150992.jpg
Primus 2001 - Small italics, black background, logo goes nearly to the edge. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2001/07/28/145271.jpg
Fly Emirates 1999-2000 - capital letter serif font, looked like this. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1999/06/14/137339.jpg http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/1999/05/02/29875.jpg
Fly Emirates 2001-2004 - New font, note two things: the shape of the sponsor patch (standard rectangle) and the fact that the "Fly" and "Emirates" are the same size. This changes in later years. These pics are from 2001 and 2004 respectively. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2001/08/12/145219.jpg http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2004/08/20/64818.jpg
Fly Emirates 2005 - Note the new size, a lot more rectangular. It basically seems like the red taken off the top and bottom has been added to each side. It's also in a lot lower position on the guernsey. At the time, Emirates were marketing themselves as being "closer to the heart of Collingwood" !! http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2005/07/31/50760.jpg
Fly Emirates 2006 - By now the text itself has been flattened and stretched. So now there's less of a red gap on the sides. I can notice a distinct difference between this and 2005. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2006/09/10/186304.jpg
Fly Emirates 2007 - This is getting crazy! The patch gets wider again. More red on the sides, same squashed font (in fact it may even be more squashed, you be the judge) http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2007/03/22/3224.jpg
Fly Emirates 2008 - Same as 07 by the looks of things. Not a lot of photos from 2007 on the AFL Photos website because of the imposed media ban that year. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2008/08/23/158153.jpg
Fly Emirates 2009 - Back to a sensible size. Plenty of room around the edges. The "Fly" is now much smaller than the "Emirates". http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2009/09/19/194572.jpg
Fly Emirates 2010 - The same as 2009. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2010/10/02/219522.jpg
Emirates 2011 - Now the "Fly" has been completely dropped, there is also some slight dark red shadowing behind the Emirates text. The text also seems to be shorter than what you have. Plenty of room around the text on top and bottom. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2011/10/01/244806.jpg
Emirates 2012 - Same as 2011. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2012/09/21/270435.jpg
Wipe off 5 2002 - Font looks more like this. http://www.willowfest.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Wipe_off_5_2.jpg?9d7bd4 Larger gap between Wipe off 5 and TAC. TAC is quite a bit smaller. Note the size of the patch, same as Fly Emirates from that year. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2002/09/06/131775.jpg
Wipe off 5 2003 - Hey hey, vertically squashed! Now where have we seen this before? Two years before Emirates did it, mind you. There's still little room on the sides, but now lots of room off the top and bottom are gone too. The TAC moves further up now, closer to the Wipe off 5. Wipe off 5 grows in size ever so slightly. Just more of a rectangular feel to the sponsor. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2003/09/20/124910.jpg
Wipe off 5 2004 & 2005 - Same as 2003. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2004/08/13/64804.jpg
Wizard - this looks all good to me.
Aussie 2009, up to the end of Rd 6 - Aussie took over Wizard after the NAB Cup so only transfers could be quickly applied, hence the poor look under light. This also means that the width of the sponsor is quite rectangular, enough to fully cover the Wizard logo.
Aussie 2009, Rd 7 onwards - New sublimated guernseys mean normality is restored. You can't see the extent of the new width on the home guernseys, but you can on the clash guernseys. Obviously it's reduced pretty dramatically. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2009/09/06/193776.jpg
CGU 2011-12 - your curve looks a little different, ever so slightly! Look at starting and finishing points, also the width I believe. http://commercial.aflphotos.com.au/images/thumbs/800/2011/02/12/222729.jpg
Well! This turned out a lot harder than I thought it was. What happened to the last 2 hours?!?

What did you send this to them for gibbsy? Did you get a reply?

That's awesome Mero.

How come you don't do the back of jumper sponsors ? (luxbet, bingel, drink drive afg etc)
Because I have been collecting the front sponsors for years.
I have a few back sponsors, but it's incomplete, and I'd prefer to have more of them before putting them on the site.

The new version of the Dick Smith logo also came in yellow on the pre-season jumper.
