Announced today XL express as major sponsor.
not a Huge fan of the look of the neck area of the new Guersey’s. Looks a bit cheap for my liking. But anyways hopefully Classic sports wear are a good sponsor along with XL Express and May they have strong financial performance resulting from the sponsorship👍

Essendon announced Under Armour as their apparel sponsor recently. We got Classic Sports Wear that specialise in corporate and school gear. Shows how undesirable the Lions are with the major corporates domestically and internationally really, which may change in the not too future.

I'm surprised that more renowned companies weren't approaching us with highly lucrative deals, considering the on-field rise and significant increase in exposure through the networks.

Those don't even look like footy jumpers. Eye-watering. Anyway, as long as we're getting paid more than we were for Majestic, Oaks, and Vero, I'm all for it.

3 year sponsorship deal.

Given our tripping from one apparel company and sponsor to another over the last few years I'll take a couple of years of long running stable companies with strong track records. We're still fairly low base when it comes to apparel sales compared to most. Getting an under armour isn't a guarantee either, that companies on a whole bunch of financial strife right now. They'll probably survive and get through it but they're taking a massive hit

It probably also has “School Leavers” emblazoned under the number too.;)

It is seriously the worse apparel sponsor I’ve ever seen in any sport around the world.
I'll join the outrage machine on this one, someone get a change.org petition up!

Surely the club can question the quality of the product it's paying for? Surprised the club didn't knock it back straight away.

Club’s going well when all our complaints are saved for the lack of sexiness of our sponsors.
On-field merchandise sales will surely take a whack. Was looking at the online shop before, the close-ups of those guernseys make them seem very poor in quality. At $120 a piece, the team at the Gabba ought to find a more flattering angle:

The last decent apparel sponsor we had was Puma back in our Premiership era, although Russell Athletic may have been around in 03. Since then it has been one no name brand after the other. Obviously many don’t really care about the benefits of a solid apparel sponsor and getting decent merchandise as a result, but the last few have been as bad as the next, BLK, Koo Ga, Majestic etc. Even still, there is nothing wrong with desiring a known apparel sponsor that will actually produce decent gear.

I've got an '03 guernsey as my go-to and it's definitely Russell Athletic.

Meh, it's OK to me. I remember thinking the Majestic collars looked a little weird but got used to them, I'm guessing this will settle down too.
Either that, or it's the start of a 12 month countdown until we get a new collar design.

The size and design of the collar are unlikely to have a significant impact on out Premiership chances going forward
