I wish we would just sign one of them now to appease the supporters and Subaru instead of playing them off against each other to get more money for the long term sustainability and success of the club.

I'd love it if Subaru, the manufacturer, was one of the two vying for the right to be a part of our great club

NUFC, YES.
Reminds me that Nick Xenophon pledged $7.2million to the Alberton Oval upgrade. I guess it's easy for him to promise money.
We're gonna build a museum, we're gonna make North Terrace pay for it

Xenophou has stated that the money he is promising in various electorates will only be made available if his candidates win those electorates. So he could at win government and we'd still not see that money.
I don't think I'd be worrying about Xenophon winning government. What we should be doing is pressuring Labor or the Libs to match the commitment.

According to Geoffa it's all just "trolling" :drunk:
He's getting pretty pent up about our Major Sponsor situation. He keeps doubling down on the rhetoric thinking that the delay in announcing a deal is a disaster for us. I'm quietly confident that we'll be pretty satisfied when anything is announced. (and that was before I read the Tredders comments)

Tredders on MMM just said we have 2 sponsors competing for the one spot. Also said there is Big announcement tomorrow about an Alberton upgrade.
5AA just said they would have KT on during their coverage at Alberton - I assume that's pre game - and he has a couple of big announcements and that one of them is about an Alberton upgrade.

I don't think its that we are going to do a Hawthorn or West Coast and spend $60m from Chinese billionaires, but around SA Best's announcement of lighting and Aboriginal Learning Centre , maybe a matching bid, and maybe that they have raised some of the other monies from corporates.

sponsorship announcement? who knows. I doubt it. I'd want my own moment if I was a new sponsor.

It's a fairly safe Labor seat isn't it so no need for Labor to pork barrel and the Libs aren't going to even waste promised money on a safe Labor seat.

Xenophou is a popularist so he has as much hope of winning as Trump has of being US President.

lol Geoffa is still about.
His name makes me laugh because it reminds me of a trash mag story of some povo, bin licker in the UK named Geoff, who called all his children variations on the name Geoff, including his daughter whom he called ... wait for it ... Geoffa.

This is a fair and well reasoned response. You know you're on Bigfooty, right? :p

Oliver Wines signs on, moments before leading the club out onto the ground in the absence of Travis Boak.

The Crows’ unfamiliarity with major sponsor announcements is understandable and we should have sympathy. They haven’t made one for 27 years.

Some snippets from the SA Best's announcement. It explains the difference between the reported $7.2m in some reports and $7.5m

https://sabest.org.au/media/media/p...st-for-sports-academy-oval-lights-and-museum/
SA-BEST will push for $7.5 million dollars towards a major multi-million dollar re-development at the Port Adelaide Football Club that will see the establishment of an academy for indigenous players, lighting Alberton Oval and a museum, if it wins the balance of power at next week’s state election.
......
Six million dollars will go towards the $14 million needed to build the Aboriginal Centre of Excellence, $1 million will be for the installation of floodlights and change rooms for future SANFL and AFL Women’s games, and $300,000 for the initial planning process for a museum to be delivered in time for Port Adelaide’s 150th anniversary in 2020.
......
“The provision of lights suitable for TV production will increase the training capacity of the facility and make it available for the SANFL and AFLW night games.” The explosion of participation in the women’s game was an outstanding development and Port Adelaide will seek to enter the AFLW competition at the earliest opportunity.
......
The museum will be located within the precincts of the ground and existing clubrooms. It will not only honor its distinguished football heritage but also that of the wider Port community. The $300,000 pledge by SA-BEST will be put towards drawing up initial development plans and archiving and storage of the club’s prized memorabilia and historical artifacts.
.......
While the state government has pledged its support, it has yet to commit to any funds. “Here’s my challenge to the local member, Jay Weatherill. Match our commitment or go one better,” said Nick.

So my bet is that announcements tomorrow around this are
1. We are building a museum to be completed by 2020 whether we get government monies or not. $300k isn't the difference between a yes or a no. Adding Port community stuff is a smart move.

2. We are getting a side in the SANFL in 2019 as we have put in a submission to the SANFL and one way or another we are preparing for a AFLW team and home games will be at Alberton and we want them to be night games given the hot weather in February and Melbourne. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the lighting cost $900k, so if that's right, $300k is for women's change rooms.

3. We might make some announcements about corporate contributions to the Aboriginal Centre of Excellence.

4. Labor might announce they have matched SA Best's pledge as Mr X challenged them.
