There were about 10 new Toyota's of different models on the bitumen standing area behind the coachs box at Alberton this morning - all from North Point Toyota...

Could they be a new Magpies level sponsor in place of the Renault dealership?
Northpoint Toyota is Robert Hoey ‘s business. A real Port man - was on the Port ‘s board for a few years

I think he was on the Crows Board in the early days too. I remember we called him Hoey the crowie for a bit and shamed him back home :D

Thrifty are 100% owned by NRMA. Might get some members deals outside SA say travel and holiday rentals type stuff as well as the car hire deals. Will be interesting if they can or can't encroach on RAA sponsorship areas.

So we may as well be getting our cash from drug cartels then? Carn.

Obviously thrifty are fine and there should be no complaints but the above comment is a bit broad.
I think you overthought his comment ... From the context of the previous posts, I see it as a "who cares which rental car company" sponsors us, rather than "Yay, bring on any dirty money"

Thrifty, Hertz, Eurocar .... who cares! Thrifty looks good on the shorts, and if they pay the bucks, then they are good by me!

I enjoyed a good read of the crows board yesterday. The absolute idiocy to suggest were still knocking on doors with no answer, that china has cost us money and we have failed by taking our eyes off the AFLW and that their foray into AFLW will be what is ultimately the poison pill that keeps them a giant and forces us to fold etc, I literally couldnt stop laughing at the complete delusion. it was made even better by the fact that the poster discussing our lack of interest in the womens game was responding to another poster called CrowsB4Hoes hahaha.

""we dont care about sponsors, were just laughing at how much port fans care about sponsors" nek minit "look at them china cost them sponsors, theyve got no sponsors, i know the ins and outs of their entire sponsorship history but only to make fun of them for the fact they care about their sponsors!"

I especially enjoyed the comments that we were late to the game with social media and how badly its cost is.

This coming from the team who got caught buying facebook likes from Istanbul, and heaped praise upon their social media team for achieving record interactions on twitter, which occurred in the time of the Phil Walsh tragedy.

Combine that with their inability to comprehend the simple humor from this thread joking about #confirmed or red bull, who we all know arent going to sponsor us - we really do have a ******ed cousin down the road dont we?

It doesnt matter who it is, how much it is, what it is, haters will always hate...... and in the end, that says more about them than us.

When the deal is announced, im looking forward to all the fun that will bring with it ;-)
I too have a laugh at how laughable a number of them are with what they post especially the one who I now dub Miss CHICKEN LITTLE - (AKA - Subaru) who thinks she is such an expert on all things Port but really she has no idea (and always doesn't see the big picture)... I especially liked (and rolled around laughing) how she raced in to the cows page when we announced our profit (like the world was ending) because She didn't / couldn't see what we are doing by announcing the profit at only 28k.

She went around also like the end of the world announcing to the cows faithful over there that she heard that our next sponsor was a cleaning company ???

I also found it funny when I politely corrected a cows poster (who did have a query) on their page in regards to something Kochie mentioned when we announced the profit on 5AA just over a week ago and she raced in saying what I posted was rubbish (if you look at the question it wasn't) and then went on about something Kochie said last year (which wasn't even part of the question)....
Why does anyone on bigfooty give it the time of day ?

We were sponsored by Harley Heaven and not Harley Davidson themselves.

From KT last March;
"... Our commercial team has been successfully attracting excellent new local partners as well: Harley Davidson ...."

Either way it wouldn't have any effect on a sponsorship deal. I doubt your average Harley buyer has any idea where the wheels are made.

I can't see Harley Davidson on the club's corporate partners page. Were they just a game day sponsor?
