Spoon 2010

Richmond. Melbourne will have a massive influx of new talent this year, and were obviously tanking. If they actually try next year then it's hard to imagine them at the bottom.

On the other hand 1 first round pick isn't going to help Richmond much, and they actually looked like they were trying to win games most of this year.

It's always hard to pick the wooden spooner, as the team that finished bottom is always the biggest "tanker" of them all.

I went with Port Adelaide, just because their young players dont seem to have much of an impact at senior level, and they are going to go even younger with a heap of draft picks this year.

Plus, when Williams gets the sack after round 6, the clubs board may decide to tank just to get more picks the following year.

Richmond.

Their poor drafting is coming back to hurt them. Having Cotchin do a full pre-season and play 22 won't necessarily mean they'll improve given he is just one player.

as mentioned the blight that is tanking has had way to major an impact on the spoons of late.

i'm finding it harder and harder to think of the spooners for this coming year. i think the game is as even now as it has been for years. any one of a number of teams are capable of causing major upsets these days.

i might just be stating the obvious, but i think younger teams like melbourne and possibly richmond or freo although a chance for major upsets could struggle to find the consistency to do well for the whole season.

cant see us finishing last, we shouldnt have even finished second last this season.

richo, foley and cotchin back next season.

i think melbourne will finish last again, they have some exciting talent but very young talent at that, and the lack of experienced players and big bodies should see them take out their third succesive spoon

We wont finish last, no way, i reckon port will get the spoon seeing as they are falling apart slowly:thumbsu:

Hmm the Dees beat you at full stength early in the year with about half their team out and had to pull off the biggest tank off all time to lose to you later in the year. I know who I'm glad to be supporting

Port seem to have some serious issues at the moment. Especially after losing their best player, and the only two trades they could get done were for two players who would've been on the AFL scrap heap if not for Ports desperation to prove that their cub was a club worth going to.

Port Adelaide for sure. Lost both Burgoynes and Lade, aquired Nash and they seem to be at the first stage of rebuilding which often means they'll be at the bottom for a good amount of time.

If the demons come last again, people will be out for blood..

Lade and the Burgoynes made no impact this year and port missed the finals by a couple of games

hows could someone be certain richmond wont finish bottom but port will?

Melbourne again
You have some sick obsession with Melbourne.

Nearly every post I see you you are in some way rubbishing the mighty Dees.

Stick to Dragonball Z you chump. :thumbsu:

(BTW funny that the last time I looked at this poll Dees only had more votes than 'Other'. All the poor little West Starch and Brissy fans must have got to it :o)

I voted for Richmond, but keep up with your paranoia, it's funny to watch:D

Ports my pick. I dont think they have the consistancy or the list to do much next season. Having said that, with the uncompramised draft the following year, there wont be great reward for finishing last, so i wouldnt be surprised if the team/or teams in the bottom four are on somewhere around the 7/8 wins each. It should be a more 'even' competition next year.

Richmond. Have lost a ton of experienced players and have to adapt to a new gameplan.
The funny thing is, generally last season when we had all our experienced players in we went terrible. Our oldest, most experienced team we fielded all year appeared in Round 1. And we all know what happened then. :o

With more games from Cotchin, Foley, Richo and Cousins we should be able to improve marginally on 15th.
