Spoon 2010

(BTW funny that the last time I looked at this poll Dees only had more votes than 'Other'. All the poor little West Starch and Brissy fans must have got to it :o)

Very likely, I'd say

Will be a lot of fun next season too I think, given all the delusion emanating from certain groups (cliques?) on BF about us...

Port will be lucky to win a game next year. Treadrea had a good year, but will not have anywhere near that in 2010. Salter seems to be headlining there attack atm, and their ruck hopes rest in the hands of an unknown named Lobbe. Throw in that Chad Cornes can barely get on the park anymore, and that they have lost both Burgoynes, it'll be exciting times for teams playing Port in 2010.

I think the bulldogs will finish bottom. Gilbee, Johnson, Lake had a good year, but will have anywhere near that in 2010. Stack seems to be headlining there attack atm, and their ruck hopes are in the hands of Will Minson.

cant see us finishing last, we shouldnt have even finished second last this season.

richo, foley and cotchin back next season.

i think melbourne will finish last again, they have some exciting talent but very young talent at that, and the lack of experienced players and big bodies should see them take out their third succesive spoon

Why shouldn't of u finished second last? We beat you round 4 when ur season "was on the line" and if not tanking would of beaten you again later in the season with 8 of starting 22 sitting in the stands.

Your list is top heavy you had 6/7 guys 30+ very little experience between 23-27, but do some have some good youngsters tho. You will turn you list over a bit in the next 2-3 years (aready 8-9 players this yr) and with the comprimised draft may be tough to climb your way up the ladder so soon.

No way will Port Adelaide finish last.

Freo should win at least half their games at home so i'm giving them 8 wins for the year. Enough to not finish bottom.

Melbourne are getting better and Watts, Scully, Trengrove, Blease should at least give them some hope.

Richmond who knows.. have some very good players but their club is in turmoil.

So... Richmond for mine.

Don't delude yourself, you are right in spoon contention.

The saddest thing is that you and others like you REALLY believe this!

It's going to be a lot of fun next season, that's for sure- especially when we're dealing with characters who are SO blind and blinkered that they won't see the train even when it's two feet from them... :D

Your train will be moving that slowly that I will have ample time to crawl out of the way.

Port WILL NOT win the spoon simply because we always have a significant home advantage at AAMI.

Our club will never get a wooden spoon. Never

I would say Richmond for the spoon. If Melbourne get it they are doomed.

And who was saying what about deluding themselves?

Exactly... more chance of us getting nine wins under our belt next year than there is of Carlton making the 8, for that matter!

Thing is Deledinho, these characters are such "true believers" that they really will keep digging a deeper hole for themselves right up until the fun starts - we won't even have to revive any old threads, I think :D

6 is the magic number for me

Carlton will make top 6 at worst.
Melbourne wont win more than 6. Pinning your hopes on 18yo's not even at the club, please.

Wrong again... we're not "pinning our hopes on draftees not at the club yet" - that's just another sad old myth certain opposition fans love to propagate.

Even without our picks in the ND and PSD, I would still expect us to be capable of winning 8/9 games in 2010, because we could and should have achieved that this year with fewer injuries.

But I do hope you continue on with your dreamy dreams, it'll just make it more enjoyable later on... ;)

cant decide between North Melbourne or Richmond
went with north thinking they had a worse list. But now that I think about it, North > RIchmond. I wish I could change my vote now
after checking the schedule, I now have Carlton getting the spoon

No doubt Melspoon will be at it again.

It could take a decade to rid the loosing culture down there, where it has been installed in all the players that losing is ok.

Lets hope they can pull themselves out of it :thumbsu:

I did wonder when Numbat would pop up on this thread... note how its seal-like blubber always starts to wobble in excitement whenever it sees an opportunity to post the same lame troll about us that it's been posting continuously and repetitively without any real change in form or content for months on end

Richmond for mine. They have got some good people in control of the club now (Gale and Hardwick), but unfortunately for their supporters i think they are facing a world of **** onfield for the next few years. It will be hard to rid the Wallace stain out of the club. Some powerful disinfectant needed.

You have to remove the tanking attitude from those players first, hence that is why you will go close to a 3rd spoon in a row.

Whoever finishes last will be seething. - A spoon and no number 1 draft pick. I think we should start to see the Demons resurgence this year. Scully and Trengrove will have an immediate impact at that club. So my bet is Port Adelaide...

You have to remove the tanking... yada yada yada...

As I said on another topic, it takes a truly special mind to be able to self-brainwash so effectively and completely as this.

Some folks have dug such an incredibly deep hole for themselves that if you look through it, you can actually SEE London ;)

I fail to see how I have dug a hole just because I know you tanked.

Why did Frawley come off Riewoldt in R22 when you were 20 points up?

What I find amazing is that we were 20 points up when we were trying so hard not to win, with half our best 22 out there??!!

And that it took a goal after the siren to "tank" against Richmond.

In any case why are we even trying to justify ourselves to Carlton supporters?? They are filthy f**king cheats. They categorically tanked against us in 2007.

Fact of the matter is we should have had P1&2 in 2008. If nothing else we are just being rewarded for what is/was rightfully ours.

P1&2 in 2008 would also help with the Watts V NicNat debate
