Sporn on Hird?

should trent sporn play on james hird?

last year in round 3 trent sporn played on hird and sporn got the rising star nominee for his effort

does anyone agree with this move for friday nights game

Hird had 25 possessions on him that game, but most of them were ineffective due to pressure applied by Sporn... but I don't think we can just pressure him when he has the ball this time around... so I say Bannister or Clarke should get the job. Maybe a head to head instead?

How is bannister traveling nowadays? I haven't really been following his progress.

Bannister has gone pretty well. Has done some good minding jobs on Pavlich, Ling and the Roos opponent escapes me at the moment. His opponents have not be stopped but their possessions have been fairly ineffective which is as good as anyway.

Has exceeded expectations thus far.

He was never a terrible player at Essendon, tries hard but could be a big ask to control Hird in his current form.

i'd have to agree with the original post. Sporn on hird should be a good test as to where sporn is in his development. I do recall one game where sporn actually had a real good game on hird, so i'd try it again.

If the weather is crap, it won't matter.

Last years game the wind was blowing all over the place and it turned into a very scrappy affair.

Carlton is very good at matching up with essendon, as history has proven. Its going to be a close match.

and then finished with 15
