I took $4.60 on Zamorar to place... come 4th by a whisker! I'm still not convinced from watching the screen at Flemington today.

Cup day has always been a bit ho hum for me apart from the main event, but it is probably the day i'm most looking forward to from a betting proposition so far this spring. Massive fields, should be value about and a few horses i'm quite keen on.

Just looked through the rest of the card and the rest of the card is so wide open it isn't funny (always tends to be the case on Cup day).

Cost me the first four only had Satin Shoes to finish fouth, made it better when I got the last tri of the day.

This unlike a lot of races in the late spring is won by the class horse since it went to WFA taking away 04 when Media Puzzle ran third, having said that, take away his Geelong & Melbourne Cups and he didn't win too much.

It's not that hard a race, look for the highest rated horse, back that at the right price.

Not shocked at that price, he has to give some good horses plenty of weight, but on the WFA scale he's not too badly off really (+0.5).

Kings' Rose gets the best of the weights IMO, but can she turn around the margin from the Cox Plate?

The barriers have made the race interesting.
