Well, I don't know all of you well, so I don't know which horses and trainers you guys follow. But seems that I
have something in common with iluvparis.

You would make a cute a couple :hearts:

He could have finger banged you as you both watched The Cleaner drop out at the 300m point of the Cox Plate together.

For me there is a difference between taking odds that reflect the horses chances of winning & taking odds you are comfortable with, I'd say Deep Field is more than a 70% chance of winning the race he is nominated in carrying 54kgs based on what he has done to date but anything under $1.75 you can leave me out of.

There is a big investment required to return 4% @ $1.50 and it is a % I don't like to risk on one bet, they still lose 3.5 times out of 10 @ that price.

So you want a 13% premium to what you price the market at before you dip your toe in?

Sorry, where's the 13% coming from?

Forget the prices, this is more a money management issue I'm referring to.

I attempt to come away with a profit of 4-5% of total bank on each individual bet but I'm not willing to risk more than 4% of my bank on one individual bet, which means I will rarely bet anything shorter than 1.90-$2 in price regardless of whether I think they are over their true odds of winning or not.

Even if you are backing horses at their correct prices there are still periods where you will lose, if you start betting big percentages of your bank and have a losing run then you will go broke very quickly.

I see Sydney boom horse Deep Field entered for sprint race (old Gadsden Stakes) Derby Day

No-one does hype like Sydney racing media

Hawkes are very conservative with their horses - Expect Deep Field to run in a race on cup Day. I love the Hawkes style of training - be the first trainer I'd select to train a horse.

Deep Field reminds me of Northern Meteor who won on this day a fair few years ago now.

Northern Meteor was like a comet - Came and went very quickly - How it won the Coolmore is beyond me considering the Waterhouse horses don't run down the Flemington straight - And a tragic loss to the breeding industry - Was breeding some quality horses.

You're not very quick at joining the dots are you?

All my avatar's this spring have been anti-iluvparis, since i couldn't find a horse that Paris despises this week i figured why not Paris' most hated racing figure and reigning Melbourne Cup Champion trainer who will be without a runner this year.

Im thinking her son could very well be making an appearance next week as he is giving away $25 million for doing up your shoelaces, so easy….

Don't you ****ing dare.

It takes an extremely long time to go broke betting PERCENTAGES of your bank /mathnit :p

Also, "I attempt to come away with a profit of 4-5% of total bank on each individual bet but I'm not willing to risk more than 4% of my bank on one individual bet" is an extremely fancy way of just saying my old man's favourite: "odds on, look on"

Quite like the Lexus as well. First time in a while that I've liked the race, is the feeling I've got without remembering any of the races in particular

Foreteller and Happy Trails were massive in the Cox, I think they are both big chances.

That being said I'm not necessarily on them.

Hahaha I don't think you can take the high moral ground after insinuating that some poor girl was getting 'finger banged' by another poster.
