I like it at the odds in an open race and usually the Myer Classic throws up a few upsets.

The year Amalfi won the Derby when Ustinov was favourite for Bart i will never forget as i backed La Bella Dama who took this race out at 40-1!! I was there that day in the scorching heat and LBD the Kiwi raider lead all the way and held on!

I've ended up going Pronto Pronto in the first. Think it had excuses last time, and 1600 should suit....at good value.

Really open field tough to really pick with confidence.

Think Union Gap will run well as well.

Thought Tatra was a huge run in that race. Went breakneck in front, and he was the only one from the first few fighting out the finish. Definitely one to follow next time, I would think.

it got me again you know, just as it does every Derby day... I was half way through race one before I'd found the remote controls to get onto the abomination that is channel 7...

not that i ever bet on race 1.

I had a small half unit each way bet on Ibicenco in the 2nd. Didn't like Gatewood. I stayed off the third. I didn't really like Zydeko at the odds. I was wrong.

Here's the rest of the day - was keen to ride my luck for a Pick 6, but Luxbet don't offer it, and that's where I have money atm.

Race 4: Snitzerland
Race 5: Ocean Park... in a canter (odds nowhere near short enough to turn me off)
Race 6: It's a Dundeel (I might be forced to eat my words, but I reckon he's a moral with the long straight)
Race 7: Streama (with no confidence - don't understand why Yosei keeps coming up short in these races. I know she was unlucky in the Toorak, so I've kept her safe in the quaddie - but she just so rarely wins)
Race 8: Howmuchdoyouloveme... easily I think (Tiger Tess and interesting outsider though)
Race 9: Fawkner
