Any free ones I can use, my computer is just about to blow up any second now....

It all depends on how savvy you are.

AVG is a good free one.

I use Zone Alarm that I downloaded for free illegally by utilising Vuze and the fantastic torrent website, thepiratebay.com.

Thanks guys.

You are gonna have fun, man. Be patient. My last computer had no virus protection for about two years, not something I was overly fussed with, so when I finally got around to doing it I found over a thousand viruses and some pretty nasty trojans.

Now I am ultra vigilant.

Be careful. There are some Worms & Trojans that can infiltrate your system & steal your network connection.

Meaning they are actually using your Internet to do illegal things & by that putting you in trouble. Plus they are using up you MB usage allowance.

BTW, I've found Norton pretty good.

Sounds like a ****ing video game.

Kaspersky is very good.

Stay away from Trend Micro.

Yeh i hear they are. Everytime i get delivered the PC Authority magazine from the Australian Computer Society they talk about it. Might try it one day.

Are you talking about a normal internet connection or a wi fi connection?

Because there are ways you can block IP addresses and computers from hacking in from your wifi. That is if you have an open one.

Whats the difference between Norton 360 & 2008?

Because if its better, I'd definitely want it.

Don't know what 2008 is but i know that 360 does these:

Protects for web browsing, email, IM, PC security
secured for online shopping and banking
gives your PC a tuneup like a car
has backup storage

It's good to have a mixture of both.

We should always have a fair share of geeks and a fair share of the props they use to get off.
