I suggest Melshkam will miss. He pulled up very lame after a contest last week so he may be due for a spell. Heppell is 50/50 probs in terms of it they will rest him or not I think. Quite tough to pick the emg though.

Great to see Hibberd debuting though.

Don't know what world the club is on selecting Welsh.

Looks underdone and out of form. Had no impact in any of the Bendigo matches I've seen him play.

Club has to get over selecting pretty boys and coach's favourites.
I thought he played well in his first game back in the VFL.

Admitedly I haven't seen any other games to pass judgement.

I'm happy to give him a chance at AFL level as Hirdy's new gameplan will suit him very nicely.

Would like to see how he goes in the Winderlich role.

With Bendigo having the bye this week you'd assume Hibbered and Davey will play as they need the run. As will Reimers and Hille.

Wouldn;t be suprised at all to see Fletcher and Heppell rested along with possibly Melksham and Lonergan.

Hurely may be sent to HB with Hooker playing FB.

Actually the Bendigo Bombers play the AIS in a praccy tommorrow 1pm @ windy hill

I tend to agree.

I'm not a fan of him in general anymore, especially with better players coming through, but I wouldn't be upset to see him trialled in Winderlich's defensive forward role.

He's done it successfully in the past, was doing it in the preseason, and we're going to need another shorter, pressuring player up there if we play all of Hurley, Hille, Ryder and Crameri.

I'd back him to "play a role" and pressure opposition defenders, and being a midfielder, I'd assume he can read a "spilled" ball reasonably well.

Something I noticed Winderlich do well up forward was direct everyone where to stand and lead from etc, something that a player with experience would know.
When I saw Welsh on the extended bench I was unsure of the decision but if he plays in this role I feel it could work well :)
Our forward structure has been disappointing recently:(

Final Teams:

IN: Hibberd
OUT: Melksham

Strong feeling that Heppell will be subbed off.. he did promise Mrs Heppell that he'll give her boy Dyson a rest.
O well, the kid deserves it. So I dont mind..

You'd think Hibberd and Riemers will switch positions during the game? Unless Hirdy's trying to teach Reimo to be accountable? By trialling him at HB? Guess its a good week as any to try new things!

Hope Melksham hasn't been dropped, just rested, and I really want Davey in the side - by I am very happy with all the 22 that are picked, so no complaints from here :thumbsu:

Reimers has been playing midfield/back for Bendigo.

You can add stanton to that list!

Anyone comparing stanton with monfries has rocks in thier heads.

Stanton has done 1000 times more than monfries. Can't believe Stanton is our whipping boy and monfries isnt. Besides a handful of games, monfries has done nothing. And I mean handful

Unless Monfries is doing something we're not aware of, he'll find himself outside the best 22 unless he rediscovers lasts years form (As a bare minimum) very quickly.

I would say Monfries may get a crack in the middle this week. He got a little bit of time last week, but I'd suggest a more substantial period this week.

Losing Fletch shouldn't be fatal against the GC. Excluding Dixon, they don't have a bevy of talls and Hurley can go back if required. Rest him for Darling and Kennedy.
