I asked a question about the Squiggle's rating of a team that is predicted to lose a grand final. Zero malice, zero ulterior motive. It's a pity some take that as an opportunity to poke at me, and then to bring up some left-of-centre stat as another attempted barb. I find it sad that such comments had a fair few likes too. The internet is a safe place to be our worst selves I guess.
I look forward to reading the Squiggle's latest, and I'll keep returning. I won't post again though - not fair of me to get so many people's blood up.

You'll get used to it. In the end you have to accept anonymous internet posters aren't always nice people. Lots of people do read and get whats happening though.

Don't worry about it. I thought it was a good question and am sure many others did.

Keep asking questions of the Squiggle no matter how stupid you might think they are or if you get moronic cheap replies. It's an interesting topic of algorithmic ratings.
There's some other good ones to look at, I hope Final Siren won't mind me posting them.

Don't stress too much most are johnny come latelys who are having a hard time working out both the team they are criticising and pumping up are similarly matched while both would be considered just ok teams in other years.

Can you blame them? Longest grand final drought except for Richmond. We've all seen the mental toll it has had on Richmond, whilst the Crows supporters' mental breakdown has gone largely under the radar.
Two reasons Adelaide haven't copped the flak Richmond have would be. 1) Not a big Vic club so the main AFL media are less interested. 2) Adelaide have had periods of success including a reasonable number of finals appearances in that time where Richmond haven't.

But yes, the effect Adelaide's prolonged lack of GF appearances and (to paraphrase) 'systemic failure in big games' has had on some of the more jaded fans is exasperating at times to say the least.

Unless you count Fitzroy, and of course, we all don't.

Now let us all reflect on our good luck that we were not born Richmond supporters.

Except for finalsiren. Sorry bud.

Yep, all you ever hear about is teams talking up the amount of grand final appearances they've been in. That's what really counts.

Out of interest, when is Port holding their 10 year celebration for their 2007 Grand Final losing team?

More importantly, when in this century will Adelaide actually appear in one? Could be this year, who knows, but it's been long time between drinks. Anyway isn't this the Squiggle thread, not the Bay?

Port and Geelong are having a joint celebration this Thursday night! We'll be commemorating a great, hard fought game. Round 22 2007 that is.

Sorry if this is a naive quetion and also one answered previously. Round 11 has Pies beating Freo. However, the ladder is reflective of the opposite result by giving the win to Freo.

I am sure there is a statistical squiggle reason' for this but to a novice like myself it is difficult to understand.
