Exciting finish to 2nd ODI. Sri Lanka were 7/128 chasing 320, now 9/270 after 45 overs. Thisara Perera with a career best 116* (67).

Hot damn, signed up to Kayo this arvo just in time to watch the second half of Perera's innings. My timing was almost as good as his!

What amazing hitting that was, shame he fell just short.

A pretty amazing innings from Perera but gee NZ were pretty ordinary in the field for much of that. So many dropped catches and it's Boult who actually takes the hardest one of them all.

Remember when 300 was a tough score to reach?
I remember when 300 was considered a monumental task, where only the bravest attempted to chase from ball one. It's what made some of those mid 2000s Chappel Hadlee trophy series so memorable, the Kiwis chasing over 300 and everyone thinking "holy shit, this is happening".
