Making fun of mental health issues is pretty disgusting man. I’d reconsider this post.
I can’t see anyone making fun of mental health issues. Clearly, the issues surrounding the player in question have exceeded what would ordinarily be considered mental health issues.

What posters find funny is the level of hypocrisy when scrutinising another club’s list strategy in the context of this thread.

Whether they’ve exceeded or not, it’s been one of his issues, and still is.

Posting about a player in rehab for injuries is different to Jamarras situation. His situation also has nothing to do with our “clubs list strategy”. One of those situations a club has control over, the other, the club doesn’t.

Be better goose.

Do they actually make you better but? I feel if you lose Marshall that's a downgrade on ruckman.
People talk crap about jack silvangni but he had a very good season this year definitely makes us better. Flanders would definitely make us better tdk overpaid yes but will improve us especially if we keep Marshall as well

Both of those players definetly improve you next year. And if it doesn’t affect your cap / retaining players over the next 2-3 years, why wouldn’t you go for it?

Absolutely love what we’re doing. The triggering it’s creating is just such an added bonus.

I find it amazing how it’s upset so many people, and so many Dogs supporters in particular.

The proof will be in the pudding one way or another. If it doesn’t work we will just go back to where we normally are and the world will be back to normal.
I've found it amazing that what the club is doing has triggered so many. I genuinely don't understand it.
Fortune favours the bold.

It was getting kind of boring with quality players going to the exact same teams.

The top 8 this year really had little trouble against the bottom half this season.
but if we step back to the end of 2024, so many were saying that the comp has never been so even, 2 games separating 8th and 14th, 1 game from 3rd to 7th, which year is the anomaly?

2026? Who improves? Sydney, I back us to improve enough to be in contention for top 8, can see North winning a few more, Melbourne? could easily play finals, but also have another crap year, Dogs? Port? I don't think Carlton, Richmond, West Coast make any huge gains on this season, although surely WC can't have as bad a year again

Of the top 8, 4th to 8th covered by 1 game, Pies are susceptible imo, Hawks have flaws, can they fill them? Suns should, but their fixture will be harder next year. I don't see any club outside of maybe Brisbane and Adelaide being untouchable, with the Suns and Freo as my next "should not miss". I dont think the top 8-9 is as locked away as many say.

As for Saints, 2027 is when I predict we should be seriously pushing, the kids are into their 4th to 6th years, the seniors (Wilkie, Sinclair and Ro) should still be holding on, I suspect Steele will be out of the 22 by then. Pushing for top 8 in '26 is the goal; making top 8 is a bonus.

Okay champ. You’re the only one making the association with mental health challenges. Do better.

The context with “clubs list strategy” was that through this thread and others the little Chi-hi-hua-huas, probably yourself included, through their toys out the cot and basically said it’s a great list strategy over-paying for someone (JSOS) to spend his time in rehab.

Seems like that’s a difficult connection to grasp, but it’s odd when you’ve had two players in consecutive years spend time off the park due to off-field issues, albeit Bailey had an ACL too, and here you are playing the mental health card.

Firstly, it’s threw* toys out of a cot, not through.

Secondly, I’ve said multiple times that this list management strategy from the saints is bold but a good one.

Thirdly, having a crack at trying to recruit an injury prone Silvagni, who has spent a lot of time in rehab for injuries, is club controlled, and a club decision. Us needing to pay Jamarra this year because of his off field issues is very clearly out of our control and I think we have handled it as well as possible.

If you wanted to be smart and compare, maybe compare us recruiting Coffield. He was injury prone before coming and has done fu** all since coming across.

Comparing an injury prone Silvagni and chasing him is very different to what we’ve gone through with Jamarra who has had suicidal thoughts and has lost multiple family members this year. Yeah he’s taken the piss with other things too, but your comparison is beyond overreach.
Chucking Smith in too after an ACL also makes no sense

You’ve been sucked in by a few fans (not even all bulldogs fans) who think you have overpaid for a player. Who cares what they think? All that matters is you are content with your list decisions and that it pays off.

Your post is pathetic. Own your crap comparison and move on.

This all sounds great in theory except for the reality Dogs extended out Jamarra’s contract last year full well knowing his off field issues. He spends more time at Luv Machine than Whitten Oval mate. Amazing list management.

Incorrect. He extended after round 9 in 2024. Was playing really good footy at the time too. His issues started popping up closer to finals. Have a crack at the dogs list management all you like, this one ain’t it.
At least be accurate.

Rumour was we also tried to trade him last off season and had no bites. Think that says plenty. That was before this year occurred too.

What will they get for Rowan Marshall.

Is it just me or is the Wilkie silence becoming clear that he does actually want out. He could easily have come out and said hes not going anywhere since the news has leaked. Last night was a perfect opportunity - silence. Could also be his manager haggling for more money but when there is smoke there is fire. Rumours of his mrs also pushing him to join the dogs.. I dont want to go into the utter shit show that is the Wilkie thread but surely its moving towards it being a real live in play option that he wants to go to the dogs

His manager is pushing for a better contract which he definitely deserves I think they know theres little chance the club will even consider trading him so they will use the bulldogs offer to get a bit more coin

Nobody is “triggered”, people are just questioning whether spending major overs for players is the right strategy at this point.

It’s not a personal attack on St Kilda, people question clubs’ strategies all the time.

makes sense and i see that but the longer this drags on the more interesting it gets. Tbh there is no player we will give you that will satisfy the trade needs of the Saints. We arent giving up Freijah and would only offer picks unless the Saints wanted a former #1 pick redemption story...

Late first?
Geelong have to get the deal done and Saints can cover him with TdK. It just makes sense.

I expect the Saints get the Flanders deal done. They're going to look very different next season.

The issue is if Geelong are in on Curnow then the Marshall deal probably doesn't happen.

I don't know how Geelong get the Curnow deal done. It would cost them more than they are willing to give up. I suspect it falls over, barring a late shock movement of a Geelong player.
