St. Kilda Captains - Darrel Baldock onwards

I'm trying to remember who has captained the Saints' teams over the years, from Allan Jeans' era onwards, and I've come up with as much as I can, but there's still a few dates missing. If anyone could help with the remaining numbers, thanks.

1963-68 - Darrel Baldock
1969 - Ian Stewart
1970-72 - Ross Smith
1973-75 - ? (I know Stuart Trott was captain for one of these years, but don't know which)
1976-77 - Carl Ditterich
1978 - ?
1979 - Barry Breen
1980 - ?
1981 - Alex Jesaulenko/Bruce Duperouzel
1982 - Bruce Duperouzel
1983-86 - Trevor Barker
1987-95 - Danny Frawley
1996-98 - Nathan Burke/Stewart Loewe
1999-2000 - Nathan Burke
2001-02 - Robert Harvey
2003 - Aaron Hamill
2004 - Lenny Hayes

To answer your question -

1973s captain was Stuart Trott, you were right. Barry Lawrence was captain in '74 and '75.

Gary Colling was Captain in '78, and Gary Sidebottom was our captain in 1980.

I got the names from the AFL 2004 stats guide, it is a great refrence.

They are about $35.00 I thunk, Munga.
They put a new one out each year, for that amount of money I'd wait until the '05 edition if you haven't got this years.

Very good reasource, they've had them out for about 5 years since the big Footystats tome went bye-bye as it was linked with Channel 7 and they lost the rights. The Sun publishes it now.

Thanks, I knew Stuart Trott was captain for one year there but I wasn't sure which one. Thanks for filling in Barry Lawrence's years too.

I actually knew about Gary Colling but completely forgot about it, so thanks for reminding me.

As for Gary Sidebottom, I had no idea he was captain. I knew he was a primary player but I didn't know he was captain.

Also, you wouldn't know where I could buy the guide you got the information from, would you? I've heard about it but don't know where to get it.

Most good Newsagents should still have a copy, as well as the Herald Sun shop in the city.
Some Bookstores even have it in stock, but it seems to vary in price and availability from store to store. They may even be able order it in for you at the Newsagents if it isn't in stock.

Otherwise, I know of several libraries (in my region, anyway) who have copies of this years as well as several past years.
