Could we get Hird as a coach? Or is he considered dangerous goods?
He's best in his current media role, usually a quality listen. Literally toxic brand for a club and just quietly a pretty shit coach too

Maybe I’m being harsh but seems we’ll have a downgrade in our line coaching if we replace Rivers with Lenny or BJ. Great players and Sainters but both are pretty inexperienced.

Hopefully atleast we can replace Misson with a high calibre candidate and not another Ross yes man.

I also hope we’re undertaking a thorough review of our fitness and strength and conditioning staff/program. We’ve started the last 2 years behind the 8ball with half the squad injured or interrupted preseasons. And David king was quoted as saying our squad missed close to the most games from injury LY

Lenny has experience he was an assistant coach at gws.

Doesn't look like we will be replacing Mission - looks like a change to structure of the football department. I.e. Ross and no name executives taking over missions job.

Enright taking some responsibility off Ross.

Which means we really need to find a good replacement for to the Rivers.

How do we get Phil Davis?

Has BJ shown any capacity, at all, to be a good coach?

Feel like Misson got walked so that Ross could take it permanently.

Either way I hope whoever settles in long term as the GM of Football gets better injury outcomes than we had this year.

Clean bill of health most important thing for us for 2026.

I feel like we have lacked a decent forwards coach which has stagnated the development of guys like Owens and King from showing their true potential. I'm not sure if any coaches from the coaching panel apart from maybe Goddard knows any forward craft at all.

It was just a video message from Ross to those who have signed on as members for next year. Just Ross being Ross.
I’m signed on. Just do the rollover thing. Don’t remember seeing it anywhere. Never mind.

I can see Ross evolving (I think it's already started) into more of a Football Manager in the EPL sense.

It could look like him overseeing the broader footy program (recruitment, trades, strength and conditioning, player salaries, internal structures) as opposed to week-to-week coaching.

With this model the assistants (or one assistant) would naturally have to step up to take on a bigger load with tactics and training sessions which I feel has already started with Enright over the last season.

Essentially Ross sets the philosophy and standards re coaching, while Boris executes the day-to-day football detail.

He would also have a lot more autonomy in decision making unlike other coaching roles e.g Essendon where they seem to go to the Board for minor decision

New backline coach was quietly announced today

Hun has a piece on our new assistant

Key points:
  • Enright made the initial approach on behalf of the club
  • Allan has been at Werribee two years, previously played and coached SANFL
  • Werribee made the grand final in 2023 but lost a lot of senior players and all coaches at the end of the year. They were tipped to plummet, instead Allan, in his first year as a senior coach, took them to the premiership, their first in 31 years, and was named VFL coach of the year.
  • Allan had coached only one season of senior football – in the South Australian amateurs – when Werribee appointed him
  • Triple Sandringham premiership coach Mark “Wilbur’’ Williams was involved in the appointment of Allan to Werribee and also served as his sounding board for two years
  • The Werribee president said St Kilda’s approach to Allan was a “whirlwind courting’’ and presented a “great opportunity for Jimmy to make that paradigm shift and be recognised as a future senior coach in everyone’s eyes’’.
Bit more insight:

Came up on the App.

I don't rollover but signed on again a few weeks ago.
