While the rest of us were drinking froffs and eating charcuterie boards on New Year's Eve, Hugo Garcia was preparing to rip apart the 2026 season.

As a young AFL midfielder Hugo is practicing accelerating away from midfield contests, receiving the ball then sprinting and bouncing before kicking with penetration into the the forward line. I realised it will be paywalled 1/3 of the way in, but I paid for MP last year and was worth doing.
They go into decent detail. The author of that article on us isn’t my favourite but there’s some very good technical aspects discussed through the season for those wondering if they should cough up.

I let my membership lapse before last season because, while some writers are excellent, there are other's who wouldn't have a clue about anything but their own team. Has that situation improved?

To be honest I reckon I’d have read no more than half a dozen articles on there last year, but was just happy to get the full article
