Game Day St Kilda V Freo Friday night, under lights.

Well. My preview game snuck up fast! I could write some humorous preview, but I 1) havent the time and 2) I am just not that funny.
Instead I shall share a story: Back in 2014 we moved back down south. We arrived and took a week or two to unpack our stuff. In a box, I found my favourite Freo Jumper which I had brought as a replacement for the doomed 2013 one. Deciding to wear it while watching the game, I sat comfortably on the new recliner. My comfort didnt last long. Down by 40 points at half time, the jumper was taken off, declared the jumper a bad omen and it hasnt been seen since. We lost, quite unexpected, by 58 points.
What ever happened in the rest of that season, I bare full responsibility for. Not that I am superstitious or anything....
The moral of this story is: I dont like the Saints, lets beat them!....Maybe then I may buy a new jumper

Expected ins: Jackson. Outs: wouldnt have a clue just yet
Expected result: Us by 21 points and me at the online Freo store buying a jumper.

So I settled in Monday to write my preview (not realising that I in fact had round 16 Saints, not this round), but gave up after not getting past my first kernel of an idea.

Given that I'm massively under the pump this week, you cannot imagine my joy to see that kingswood71 was actually due this week, and posted early enough for me not to embark further on this mission. Bravo sir, you are indeed a gent.

For those wondering about the idea, it started with that Flagmante bellend pining for Ross and hating on JLo, but after the 'sweary' teamtalk video, it then centered around Rossy, in his Freo PJ's secretly longing to coach Andy Brayshaw again, accompanied by terrible photoshop work...

I think this is less of a danger game than the Melbourne game was

1. The players should be well aware eyes are still on them as to how they back up after a good performance, which means they won't be in that dreaded 'comfortable' state as yet

2. Saints don't have the midfield prowess that can subdues our mids. Usually when our mids are well beaten we lose.

3. Darcy and Jackson were big outs against demons with gawns dominance

4. Marvel suits us. We usually shit the bed at the MCG

Fingers crossed but unfortunately, I'm lucky to see Freo in person 4-6 times a season compared to the 12+ that members in Perth potentially get.

We have to win this game. Not just for the points, but for the players and the club to believe in themselves.
Whatever side of the fence you sit on, be it the coach to get the players up, or the players as individuals to get themselves ready, the attitude that the saints will bring has been telegraphed since the 2nd quarter of their last game when Ross went ballistic at their bench.
We know the Saints will come out roaring. There is no doubt about this.
This team needs to do what it says and 'play their brand (whatever that is)'. Show us. Do it. Four Quarters of sustained pressure football. From the 1st bounce until the final siren. We're good enough. We had a dress rehersal two weeks ago. We know the level the Saints will bring.
We're good enough. Win. Do it.

Darcy has to begin to impose himself on games now, given he’s gaining fitness.
