Poor old Timmy Watson - not the best place to be after round 7 (a draw and 6 defeats). Sooner or later the Saints board will meet with him and possible he will "stand down" or be sacked which leads me onto the question - who does everyone think will be the caretaker/replacement coach of the saints?

I've heard through the footy grapevine that Robert Walls, Allan Joyce, Tony Lockett (!!), Gerard Neesham are all interested in the position AND wait for the spoiler . . . Ken Sheldon and Stan Alves could reapply for their old position too!

Give the job back to Stan Alves

It was a disgrace the way they let him go in the first place. If there are 'no hard feelings' on either side then Stans the Man.

But look, the Saints are just gonna make things so much worse for themselves if they sack yet another coach mid-season.

Its not entirely Timmys fault the Sainters are playing so poorly. There are serious problems at Moorabbin but they have more to do with a 103 year old club culture of unprofessional back-slapping than they have to do with any one coach or player, or group of players.

And another thing : If Watson goes, will Plympton be true to his word and step down also ?

I doubt it.

Thanks GoEagles, always a pleasure to see West Coast supporters so interested in the development of our club. While it always seem to be the negative aspects jumped on by the media, any publicity is welcome. Except from Mike from the Herald-Sun and Rexy Hunt, whose delightful commentary towards St Kilda since the sacking of best mate Stan has been downright atrocious.

Now, back to your question. I will go on record now in saying that Tim will NOT be sacked this year. Apart from the fact that it will make little difference to the on-field performance, there is NO chance that we will be paying out his huge coaching contract. (Reportedly as much as Sheedy)

As for your coaching replacements, we can only hope that none of the alternatives would be even thought of

Walls - How hypocritical would that be after the baking that he has given Watson
Neesham - April Fools Day was 3 weeks ago!
Joyce - Amazing what happened to the Doggies the second that he was sacked
Plugger - A bit far from Sydney for him
Sheldon and Alves - Can't deny the good they did for the club. However there were internal problems that we don't know about. From all reports, Sheldon was too chummy with certain players while Alves had lost the support of the players. (More than just the treatment of certain players during 1/4 and 3/4 time intervals)

Besides, we took a step in the right direction of Saturday night. There is no reason why we can't turn our season around with the a victory on Saturday. And there are, contrary to many media reports, many good young players coming through the VFL side and getting a chance recently. (Won the last 5 VFL matches on the back of these young players)

- Lenny Hayes, Cadyn Beetham, Troy Schwarze, Murray Pitts, Steven Baker, Brett Knowles, Brent Moyle, Jason Blake, Sam Cranage and quite a few more are coming through.

Also worth noting that Sean Charles' VFL form was scintillating before doing a hamstring on the Thursday night training before his recall

However, having said all that, it would now not surprise me if we lost on Saturday night and continued to go downhill. These comments will then comeback and haunt me. I am just quietly confident that we starting to head in the right direction.

Here Here Sainter,

Who will be the interim coach for St'Kilda, posted by GOEAGLES

Didn't St'Kilda have a draw with the Eagles?

And are they not the only team St'Kilda have taken points off?

If the Eagles away form keeps up, maybe they will be looking for an interim coach to replace Ken Judge.
