It's a pretty simple concept but I want it to be made clear to whoever at the club reads these boards.

Stability sucks.

We have had huge levels of stability from the board to the admin to the footy committee to the coaches.

It has gotten us nowhere.

Stability without success is a recipe for failure.

Stability based on success is great.

Allowing those chasing stability to define their own success without any accountability is a horror show.

At some point in his tenure Koch realised he was better equipped to control the media narrative about the Club than deliver on field success.

He decided to define whatever tripe the footy department delivered as ‘success’.

That approach has always been deluded and with time has become transparently empty and, at times, comical.

But…here we are.

Stability to be debt free, so we can go into debt again to further redevelop Alberton Oval. Sure it looks good to increase our capital base but clearly we aren't spending money in football department to make us competitive.

I wonder how much budget Carr has to spend on his coaching panel next season? Will we see an aggressive head hunting approach for the best in the business or will we draw from the TEMU selection of assistant and fitness coaches.

The club is in the worst position in our history.

Whitewashing our purpose, shifting the goalposts towards just competing and totally forgetting the standards and ethos that drove our club.

Best thing that could happen to us is finishing bottom 4 next 2-3 years, stack a shipload of top end talent into the squad and load up for another crack before the current core is done.

Stability was once our strength. There is nothing wrong with stability if you have the right people in the right jobs- our problem is we don't.

Our other problem is unlike the old days the Members no longer have the means to bring about change.

Good point, there was some real strength in the support structure when Hinkley took the helm. Phil Walsh must have been a tower of strength and for all his issues Darren Burgess got results in his early tenure. I do not see a Phil Walsh among the current support staff and Graham ain't no Burgo Mk1.

Schofield could be a Richardson-like figure for Carr as a senior assistant, with hopefully someone else with fresh ideas to oversee midfield and forward line. Reckon Carr needs three new smart, energetic minds to join him in the coaches box. Would also like for us to get rid of Sutcliffe, Lobbe and ideally Hartlett, but that doesn't seem likely.

New fitness / conditioning coach from outside our current department is non-negotiable.

In 2011 and 2012 when we were a basket case, I was a baked-on member and happy to buy merch etc to keep the Club afloat. I was only one of many thousands who did this, but I felt more connection, and more pride in my Club then than I do now.

I'm not longer a member (after 20 years) and have been on a self-imposed merch ban for a while now. I feel no connection and my loyalty is irrelevant. I hate it, I feel like there's something important missing in my life.

We're now run by accountants and AFL House.

Remember that season that was the last in a contract where the pass mark went from "premiership" to "don't finish in the bottom four", and naturally he was re-signed?

Same boat as alot of people here... Went to games 2011/2012 ect knowing the chances of a win wasn't so good... But seeing our players develop put in more effort to win against the odds at least I could walk away most weeks annoyed we lost... But could see a future with the players we had.

Now haven't been a member for 4 years. Totally disconnected with the current port Adelaide team/administration.. and don't think I'll ever get the passion back I once had.

No flag within six season means you need to be shown the door. This appears objectively true when you look at coaches like Hardwick, Fagan and Thompson on the one hand, and B Scott, Hinkley and Lyon on the other.

Agreed. We need full disruption.

The focus has been on one line coach moving on so far, but it's so much bigger than that.

The best chance of success for Carr would be a full reset with a new Chairman, a new CEO, a new GM of football with some new faces in footy oops, a new fitness manager/team and a refresh of Development coaches.

I don't expect any of that to happen, aside from maybe one new development coach to put in the spotlight alongside a new forwards and mid coach.

I believe Eskimo Joe provided a list showing that all non-member elected board members had served for a minimum of 9 seasons.

I think like many fans I have no issue with stability when you have success and the right people in their roles. We have neither.

When David Koch says " We prefer to promote within" That is a red flag to me as I don't think you are doing complete due diligence. When Koch says " Good clubs promote within" That can be true, but I think successful clubs promote within, again a box we do not tick.
