Stadium Capacity Thread

The WACA shouldn't be on the list as it isn't a current AFL stadium. Blacktown Park should be there.

Nowhere in this topic does it say that this list is exclusively AFL stadiums.

Yeah, but that isn't the point I was stressing. For the MCG itself to not know their exact capacity is a little amateur.
They do know, they have to know for ticketing (agency) purposes.

I have a feeling that the seating number is sub 95k which is why an exact figure is never publicly stated. They just top up to 100k with standing room.

used to be, in my opinion would still make a good venue, for when freo verse low drawing sides

Freo could easily sell out the WACA.

Not to mention the ground itself isn't large enough anymore.

When Freo verse low drawing sides. Ahem, are you aware our lowest crowd last year was 28,000 vs Gold Coast in the rain. In 2010 we had more attendees than West Coast, what a ridiculous comment.

I stand corrected.

Blacktown only holds about 10k though?

Yeah. 2010 and 2011 NAB Cup games were sell outs with crowd figures of 9,700 and 9,500 respectively. 2012 they got 7,000 out there. Only one small grandstand, the rest is a low hill.

I did the MCG tour in January this year, the tour guide said there are 95,000 seats.

I read somewhere in The Advertiser back in 2001 before the Power played a home semi final, they mentioned AAMI Stadium had a total capacity of 54,000. Now most guides say it's about 51,515? I bet the stadium had more seats before the current bucket ones were installed prior to the '04 season.

Just hope they're right about Adelaide Oval (50,000 seats), reckon it would be possible for AO to hold 55,000.

After the 2013 AFL Season, wonder what AAMI's capacity will be after the AO redevelopment will be? About 15,000 I'm guessing.

Number One Sports Ground has a capacity of 20,000 but only about 1,000 seats.

Number one sports ground in Newcastle is an amazing surface
Played there about 4 times I think. Back when I lived on the NSW mid-north coast and played for Nelson Bay in the black diamond league
Beautiful ground

the Gabba is listed at 42k is rather doubtful as the record crowds for the cricket is 38,874k and for the AFL 37,224k & even for the BBL there has been several games that have been classed as sell outs but 33,783 has been the recorded highest
