There seems to be other ways to make money for interested parties, do Port and the Crows get a cent out of it?

Isn't that a ripper - So our budgeted sales for corporate catering revenue are down because you lot can't get a crowd in cause Ken Hinkley stinks..... so therefore we need to make that money back you low lifes!

Meanwhile how many million do the SANFL get?

Man something is very wrong already with the stadium deal....

I wonder if Western Bulldogs crowds will make beer more expensive at Marvel next year?

Something is wrong with this state.

Any danger of a competent administration actually obtaining better deals with suppliers instead of just raising the price?

I feel like exorbitant prices work at concerts and other one off events because people forget to bring their own food and drink, but most people going to the footy are well aware that if they aren't organised it's going to cost $80 to feed a family of 4.

There's no way a $5.10 bottle of water is the supply demand sweet spot.

I'd love to see a real breakdown on AFL footy at Adelaide Oval and the money the SANFL makes from it, and what they do with it.

I'd also then like to see a breakdown on AFL Footy in Melbourne and the breakdown of funds taken from games by the AFL and then pumped down to the VFL clubs.

I'm sick of hearing that Port with their 34k average crowds are sending the SANFL broke. We're averaging 34k ffs. The Crows are selling out Every week, and we're pumping a s**t load of cash into the SANFL and these development grants. Do the Vic clubs cop the same leeching of their revenue???

They probably have screwed their suppliers too.

Ahh, the time old "this is everyone else's fault but mine" approach.

Maybe the SMA has a dud deal too ?

It’s all great have a revenue assumption based on an ‘uplift’ - but did anyone do a forecasted average based on it falling away, therefore working out an average?

Fathoms me how we can’t make a decent fist out of it.

It’s a bit like politics, if the two major parties worked together on key items like health, education etc.... what a much better system we’d have.

If the Gov laid the law of the land that the two AFL clubs are the most important assets here in winter, they need to make money - keeping them strong makes it all strong.

Nahhhh let’s all grab as much as we can and bleed it all dry...

Lmao a relatively packed stadium and they make a loss?

Get Deloitte in there for *s sake. This is absolute trash.

Best thing is the more they hike prices rather than addressing problems like the SANFL leeches and conflicts of interest at board level the less they are going to make.

No one is buying * all moving forward.

Well as we know, we have the right to tell the SMA to grow the pie.

Thing is they are just taking on more overheads in this Hotel.

If AO isnt turning a profit for them what on earth is the business case for the hotel? It's absolutely bound for massive failure.

SMA and SANFL need to fold already. The AFL need to take over and negotiate supply deals. It'll be marginally cheaper and it'll result in more dollar for the clubs.

They are just the inept middleman no one asked for.

Is there a reason why the government doesn't have full control of the stadium?

The SACA and SANFL wouldn't have accepted the deal without it and the government don't have a track record managing stadiums very well.

Neither would have given up their rights without some management control of AO.

Perth Stadium was different the WACA weren't giving up their rights for the new PS like the SACA did at AO. The government are paying the WAFC $10.3m per year indexed by CPI for 10 years, then a new 10 year deal will be negotiated, to give up their rights at Subi and they appointed a specialist sports stadium management company - the guys who run the Olympic Stadium in Sydney - the management rights to PS as they didnt have the skills to manage it.

I wrote this on page 57

Rann told Demetriou in 2007 - you will never get these people to do a deal, they won't even talk to each other. But if you do then come back and talk to me about money. That's why it wasn't a proper deal from the start of the whole process. It was always a compromised deal unlike WA (and Brisbane and Carrara and Sydney Showgrounds).
