I haven't spent a cent at AO this year and will continue to spend nothing there for the foreseeable future.

Unless you desperately want an alcoholic drink and can't be bothered to bring in a flask or thermos, there's no reason to get anything there. For less than $10 eldest and I picked up enough junk at Woolworths in the Mall to make us both sugar overloaded by the end of the game and still not through it all. And around the same price for lunch at Zambrero's beforehand for food that was tasty, as a tasteless hot dog and soggy chips would be at the ground. On track to not spend anything there this year. I've told eldest don't rush to finish drinks as we aren't buying anything at AO this year.I haven't spent a cent at AO this year and will continue to spend nothing there for the foreseeable future.
Well done . If enough do it it'll hurt em . Gee i know its fantasy land stuff , but i wished we could of done up Alberton like Geelong !Unless you desperately want an alcoholic drink and can't be bothered to bring in a flask or thermos, there's no reason to get anything there. Some jerk was making trouble near the toilets at the Eastern gates. At Saturday's game I made a special effort to look around at how many Blue Coats were on duty / standing around
I noted dozens of them all doing very little
I know you've got to provide a service when people need it but there must multiple opportunities to rationalize staffing levels
Just remember this, both Port and Crows receive a percentage of the food and drink takings.
Having said that we bring our own food and drink
It will be interesting to see whether Rucci goes into bat for the SANFL/SMA. I get the feeling he might.
Good incentive for sma to under report our crowds...The Rucci's Roast article is up online now ... Be interested to hear your thoughts REH ...

Parliamentary inquiry into Adelaide Oval hotel plans has put the Crows and Power deal at Oval on public display
Frank Pangallo, the newshound turned politician, is sitting on one of the great secrets in SA football. It is there in his notes from the state parliamentary inquiry into the plans to build a boutique hotel at Adelaide Oval.
Did you know Frank that every time a fan walks into the Oval for a Crows or Power AFL game that the Stadium Management Authority hands the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs a $2.40 “kick back” from the catering revenue?

The Adelaide Oval SMA (AOSMA) calls it a “rebate” to the Crows and Power.
Yes, if 50,000 fans file in for a Crows-Hawthorn game, SMA boss Andrew Daniels is compelled to sign a $120,000 cheque to the Adelaide Football Club. This is the Crows’ cut for all the pies, pasties, hot chips, hot dogs, soft drinks and beer sold during the game.
It is all laid out on pages 126-127 of the evidence in the Hansard notes kept for Pangallo and his honourable colleagues from the parliamentary chambers on North Terrace.
A $2.40 rebate for the Crows and Power for every person who goes through the turnstiles at Adelaide Oval ...
“And this takes place,” SANFL chief executive Jake Parkinson told Pangallo and Co, “before any costs are incurred by AOSMA in operating the catering concessions (at the Oval).”
Puts a whole new perspective on the prices at the concession stands at Adelaide Oval, doesn’t it Frank? Next time any fan want to question the food and drink prices at Adelaide Oval — and take issue with the SMA — the view could change by considering this “kick back” that goes to the Crows and Power.
They get this cut of the catering spoils at the Oval for bringing the crowd.
This is one of the special features of the new AFL-SMA stadium deal at Adelaide Oval signed at the end of the three-season review last year.
.... Blah blah blah
1. the $2.40 kickback for each person that enters the venue might equate to 50c increase on all products - that is the purchase of 5 things per person which isn't unrealistic on the whole I wouldn't have thought for the majority of people that attend the footy. If they dropped the price of everything by 50c and gave no 'kick back' to the clubs, prices of food and drink would still be too expensive!
2. How did Adelaide get $18.4m and we get $9m in returns from the stadium? that would suggest we get half the people that the crows get to games? or is it they sell corporate boxes for more, tickets to games are more and their memberships are more which = a much larger return to them?

Now there’s an interesting perspectiveGood incentive for sma to under report our crowds...
That's why a few of us have been banging on for 3 years ( ie post 2014 season) that the crowd figures are dodgy, and others have said it doesn't happen. It would be skimming ie upto a couple of thousand, not ten thousand.Good incentive for sma to under report our crowds...

Yep I won’t be buying there if it doesn’t help the club. I am tempted to bring a thermos and some apricot slices instead. Now that we have the data, we can fully boycott all catering in the stadium. This is why the SMA killed off the GDV.
