I don't understand how people think it's appropriate to defend serial human rights abusers by deflecting.

These people are scum and are every bit as bad as the worst dictators in history.

The 2 wrongs make a right argument is kindergarten shit
Strawman argument.

No one is defending serial human rights abusers.

I've said that I don't know what goes on in Abu Dhabi, and if I did a football forum wouldnt be the appropriate place to discuss it.

The fact that you an WC want to make this a football issue says a lot to me.

That's what you've been doing for the last 10 pages with your absolutely laughable Standered Chartered terrorism claims.
My only claim is that they've been accused of funding terrorist organisations.

Which is 100% true. They have been accused no matter how much you close your eyes and refuse to see.

It's not true and is 100% incorrect. SC are guilty of not picking up money laundering - as are most large multinational banks.

They have not and have never been found guilty of funding terrorism. But it isn't surprising that you continue this nonsense.

so why are you talking about SC if not to bizarrely validate human rights abuse.

There is plenty of information on it from respected investigative journalists and human rights organisations.

Where else do you want me to discuss it. It is a football related issue and is part of a wider strategy for these countries to improve their image through football. The world cup is going to qatar ffs.

do you just read posts and then rearrange them in your head to suit what you want? genuinely wondering. no one has said they're guilty. just that they have been accused. which is the exact same thing that has happened to the sheikh. but that's different cos you know everything is for certain where that is concerned.

Good point. Some here arent bothered by the slavery going on in construction for Qatar 2022. FIFA are getting sued over it I hear.

I've never said they are guilty of it.

Jesus Christ.

Again it's still incorrect. SC have provided banking services for the Iranian govt - who the lawsuit claims provided funding to Hezbollah. A ridiculous claim by the way which has gone nowhere.

There has been zero evidence or zero claims of SC funding Hezbollah directly he cause they simply don't and never have.

So yes, moombas claim that SC have been accused of funding terrorist organisations is absolutely false and he knows it.

WC was talking about ISIS. It had bothing to do with human rights.

how do you know for certain that it didnt?

Because not even the lawsuit accuses them of providing funding to Hezbollah. It accuses SC of providing banking services to the Iranian govt who supposedly funded Hezbollah. Unsurprisingly it's gone nowhere.

And good to know that moomba takes the word of the accusers. I guess he also takes the word of nutcase who accuse the US of organising 9/11 themselves because they've been accused!!

OT is going to get work done in the summer this year to expand the area for disabled spectators. Apparently this will decrease the capacity to 72,500. With the others building new stadiums and new stands, boosting the main stand should be in the back of the Glazers' minds. According to Andy Mitten, this would increase capacity to 80k and then with further development, to 88k. If it wasn't for the damn railway tracks and housing behind the main stand, I'd suspect these developments would've already been done and dusted.
