I love it. Absolute colosseum. Gonna be epic when it's up and running.

On what way do you deem it trash?

I mean with iconic is you recognise the stadium just from a picture. Camp nou is trash in regards to facilities but with a photo on the inside you'd instantly know it was the camp nou.

That's what I feel with anfield and the kop

St James' park is probably the most recognizable ground from the inside and you haven't mentioned it.

I recognise most grounds from the inside, that's a ridiculous reason to give for a ground being iconic.

Now that is a fantastic stadium.

St James' is a great stadium to watch football at and the crowd is pretty welcoming for pre and post match froths unless you're a mackem.

amirite NUFC Tiger ?

Looks incomplete imo

Really?

Cant speak about it from the inside but I reckon its one of the ugliest with it's uneven stands
It's pretty breathtaking on the inside, and because of the uneven stand you get a fantastic view when sat on the taller side.

You mean a fantastic view of the city?

Hm could have sworn I took a picture from the top when I was there but seems I didn't.

By the time you got to the top it would be breath taking

Seem to recall you did a stadium tour when you visited England a few years back. Would have been amazing haha.

That's right mate. Also might run into trouble if you're a horse. :p

You're dead to me jd :D

Surely ugly stadiums don't get to be on the cover of FIFA? (FIFA 13) ;)

Personally, I always found the asymmetrical design made it seem more unique/ and maybe iconic? I guess different tastes and all that.

It's right in the heart of the city and the surrounding area probably will make further expansion difficult should the need ever arise.

Someone photoshopped this a while back - maybe you'll appreciate this design more mate. :)

St James would be better if they put a bar, or hotel half way up the stairs to the away section.

By the time you got to the top it would be breath taking

Haha! Always enjoy reading the experiences of away day fans. Seen quite a few mention jokingly suggest they suffered altitude sickness by the time they got to their seats. Think a few mentioned they missed the start of the match as they underestimated the climb. :p

Seen a few snaps from the away end (SM, think you shared one with me IIRC?). Get a really nice view of the rest of the stadium. Just might need some binoculars too if you have poor eyesight.

Was trying to recall, didn't you also catch a game on Wearside? Think Hull may have won over those pesky Mackems? (or maybe that's just wishful thinking haha).

Cashley could then rename it Sports Direct Generic Arena! Even more Sports Direct signage! :drunk:

Yep, 2-0 over Sunderland. Wes Brown red after about 15 minutes and Long and Jelavic both scored.

Am I the only one who likes it?
Nope, I think it's brilliant. Everyone who is judging it is doing so from that birds eye view and who really cares what it looks like from there?

At a human scale it looks fantastic and is really different from every other stadium which I love. Stamford Bridge is surrounded by low-medium rise brick buildings so will blend in with it's location and create a real sense of drama as you approach it.

The chief reporter at Squawka, Greg Stobart, has apparently said on a recent Tottenham podcast that our new stadium will be sponsored by Qatar Airways.

If true, and given the earlier discussions in this thread, I'm not sure how I feel about that. We're also almost definitely signing a new kit deal with Nike next season.
