What's up? Pretty sure I've posted about this before.
Etihad airways and Emirates are in the market so they're looking to get into the UK market.
Yeah, am I mistaken in thinking that the airways is owned by the royal family of Qatar, the same people who own PSG?

If so, there's been talk about them buying an English club for a while now, with Spurs often talked about as a leading candidate. The problem is that I think the FIFA rules would suggest that in that scenario only one of us or PSG could compete in Europe. This would be a way to get around that, yet still pump a considerable amount of money into an English club, establishing their presence in the English market with an eye on creating a good business relationship with ENIC and a possible purchase of the club later down the track.

The Tottenham Way. Dan Kilpatrick from ESPNFC, who is one of the better Spurs journos around imo, is a regular on there with a few of his mates.

I haven't actually heard the one with Stobart on it, but I was listening to this weeks recording and they referenced him saying it whenever he was on.

We'll find out soon enough, the other rumour going around is it may be Nike trying to become naming rights sponsors.
The last few kit deals we've signed they've been announced 12-18 months in advance. Nearly February now on a deal that expires in June... No announcement as of yet.

Yeah don't see how Qatar cold possibly buy Spurs unless they accept a minority share.

UEFA regulations prevent two clubs with a common owner who holds a 51% share or greater competing in Europa / Champions League at the same time.

Qatar could buy a minority share in Spurs but would they really do that ? Middle Eastern sugar daddies aren't likely to accept the club not being in their control if they are bankrolling it.

For sponsorship purposes the Premier League is a global brand and their primary competition in the Middle East in Etihad and Emirates already have significant profiles in English football. It would make sense for the company to seek out a sponsorship deal in order to match their competitors.

Obviously they couldn't own a majority share of the club without selling PSG first, but iirc there have been rumours about for a while that they were looking at an English club with a view to the long term. From their perspective if that was their long term goal it would make sense to organise a sponsorship agreement for their airline with an eye on creating a good relationship with the club owners to facilitate an easier purchase negotiation down the line. If indeed that was Spurs, they would already have an affiliation with the club through the sponsorship, making the transition much easier.

Obviously that's all hypothetical, but the stadium naming rights deal is something that is certainly feasible in the short term.

Bojan KantKick when Utd visit you should be able to get pissed quickly (not that you're setting the bar high StevieDewar :D)
Apparently the new stadium will have a micro brewery with the ability to pour 10,000 pints per minute with an 88m long bar.

Well atleast the fans can get sloshed at the football.

Haven't looked into it but can see it being 2 things that haven't caused this an issue.

1) red bull own them both but they're never likely to be in the same uefa comp

2) red bull Germany own one red bull Austria own the other

Just remembered that RB Leipzig is a "fan owned" club and so Rasenball Sports Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg can play each other in European competition.

All the gimmicks in the new stadium are pretty cringeworthy, a lot of it seems to be aimed at corporate/VIP which could be quite a negative influence on atmosphere as we have found out to our peril. Obviously looking to secure investments at this point.

The single tier home end stand sounds pretty epic, nosebleeds could be a long long way from the pitch though.

How are they fan owned? Thought red bull owned the majority stake and that's what pissed so many other German clubs off?

Look they for all intents and purposes are run by Red Bull but German rules dictate that professional football clubs have to be member owned, so they made it that way. Problem is RB's way of doing that was charging 1000 euros for membership and having only 17 "members", who just about all work for some company called Red Bull.

Member owned=Still run by Red Bull=****s off German football fans even more

Pretty sure they'd be treated as related parties. Didnt Roman get pulled up on this early in the piece. Wasnt the owner of the Russian club, but was said to hold influence over it.

Otherwise it would just be too easy to set up separare corporate entities and say you're unrelated.
