All the gimmicks in the new stadium are pretty cringeworthy, a lot of it seems to be aimed at corporate/VIP which could be quite a negative influence on atmosphere as we have found out to our peril. Obviously looking to secure investments at this point.

The single tier home end stand sounds pretty epic, nosebleeds could be a long long way from the pitch though.

Not worried as I read they've consulted with the Emirates architects to not repeat the same mistakes. They've made it clear atmosphere is one of the highest priorities. Not evenly slightly concerned.

No doubt some of the 60k will be there just for the "experience"

Still would expect 40k of proper support in there

Bojan KantKick when Utd visit you should be able to get pissed quickly (not that you're setting the bar high StevieDewar :D)
Apparently the new stadium will have a micro brewery with the ability to pour 10,000 pints per minute with an 88m long bar.

Well atleast the fans can get sloshed at the football.
Stealing the idea from the Atlanta Falcons huh?

You haven't "consulted" with them, you are using the exact same architects to design your stadium as we did for the Emirates. The initial design images make it look like a very similar design to the Emirates (particularly the distance between the pitch and the crowd which is a major reason for the lack of atmosphere). The particular concern should be that you are trying to make it a multi-functional stadium, as when you try to design for multiple uses you will inevitably end up creating something that serves none of them well.

I repeat.

Not even slightly concerned.

There's been multiple snippets about them using the same architects but using sound technicians to learn from their previous mistake
what mistake? Arse fans were shit at the library too. Can't blame the architects :tearsofjoy:

Fair enough. I would be.

Well you're not exactly right about distances.

Acoustics and sound experts have been in regular meetings with Levy to ensure steps are taken to maximise atmosphere etc.
Again, not even remotely worried.

As I said I was basing that on the images from the architects, in which they appeared very similar to the Emirates, and a lot longer than 5m.

Seems like one Arsenal fan has a case of the green-eyed monster. The only good thing about building our new ground 10 years after Arsenal got the jump on us is that we learn from their mistakes.

From a club director:

Tottenham’s Donna-Maria Cullen was asked for comment, and told L’Equipe: “The atmosphere of an enclosure depends very much on its architecture. We work to optimise that in the new stadium, working especially with the team that manages the acoustics of U2 concerts.

“That is why, for example, the corners of the stadium will be closed, unlike the Emirates. In addition, we insisted to the that architects that the stands be close, as at White Hart Lane. In our stadium, the pitch will be five metres closer to the fans than it is at the Emirates.”

The repeated references to Arsenal are no accident, explain L’Equipe, because Tottenham have seen how the Emirates has lost out on atmosphere.

I'm seeing a repeated theme in nearly every update whether first hand from the club or second hand info. Learning from Arsenal's mistakes.

sounds more like spurs trolling arsenal at every opportunity haha
Haha there probably is a little bit of that. Particularly with the stuff about the planned capacity.

But it's a natural reference point, really, considering that both stadiums will be done by the same architects.

The capacity definitely had that element. Don't know why it's so ludicrous a suggestion though that they've actively sought to learn from and not repeat mistakes made down the road.

Similar capacity. Same shape. Lessons can and appear to being learned.

You think it's just a case of twice as many cruffys skyping the missus during the game than there used to be?

elhadjihenry is an architect, so I am sure his statements are valid.
