It's not about how many people were effected. It's the questionable land banking tactics of the club to slum down the area in the 90s that is morally wrong imo

No doubt the uncertainty surrounding the area wasn't grest. That's been well and truly addressed by project anfield though.

Some of the laundering would end up in the hands of terrible people. Terrorists or not. People only launder dirty money which normally involves bloodshed

Of course but then every bank would be guilty. Knowingly allowing a terrorist organisation to access funds would be a different ball game. Something SC is not guilty of.

That's a bit different to the original funding of terror claim you made.

US bank regulators in New York claim it hid £160billion of cash transfers in a conspiracy with Tehran leaders for almost 10 years

One of Britain's oldest banks was last night accused of laundering billions of pounds for terror groups and Iran's nuclear weapons programme.

US bank regulators in New York even branded Standard Chartered - one of the mainstays of the City of London financial world - as a "rogue institution".

They claim it hid £160billion of cash transfers in a conspiracy with Tehran leaders for almost 10 years.

American finance chiefs claim Standard Chartered - who sponsor Liverpool football club - put profits ahead of international security and laws by breaching sanctions in dealing with Iran.

The New York State Department of Financial Services also accused the bank of doing business with Burma, Libya and Sudan.

The regulator claim Standard Chartered worked with three Iranian banks suspected of being used by Tehran to fund its weapons programme.

US authorities also suspect the Iranian banks funded terrorist groups Hezbollah, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

They said its nine-month probe, which involved looking through more than 30,000 pages of documents including internal emails, showed the bank reaped "hundreds of millions of dollars in fees". A spokesman for the bank said last night that their Iran operation had been shut down in 2007 and they had "no physical presence there".

They settled for three quarters of a billion.

They were fined again (USD$300m+) in 2014 for continued breaches of anti money laundering legislation in Iran (so much for no presence)

Currently also facing a lawsuit from victims of Hezbollah attacks.

So when I said they've been accused of involvement with terrorist organisations thats because they have.

No they haven't. You're taking our you're arse again. US govt place sanctions against those companies because they were Iranian - not because they are terrorist organisations.

Incidentally the US has now lifted sanctions against Iran and is doing business again.

I said they've been accused of funding terrorist organisations.

Which they clearly have as evidenced by the article above, many other articles and the lawsuit.

Incorrect. The US govt didn't allow business with Iranian companies. As for the lawsuit it does not allege SC funded Hezbolla; it asserts that because SC did business with the Iranian government who then funded Hezbollah. A long bow to draw and probably why it has gone nowhere. But that doesn't suit your ridiculous prerogative.

I do note that you mentioned only the bank that sponsors Liverpool was fined when HSBC , Barclays , Credit Suisse & RBS were also fined in the same case. HSBC to the tune of 1.9 billion.

Awaiting an outraged Cruyff to call you out on your hypocrisy.

They were accused. Just as I said.

Deal with it. I know you won't acknowledge there may be any truth in it because your morals vary depending on the colour of shirt worn.

But I've provided plenty of proof to back up 100% what I said.

So being accused makes you guilty now. Hilarious.

Lots of deflection away from the Sheikh being a serial human rights abuser.

How another club being sponsored by a company accused of AML offenses condones the abuse of basic human rights is beyond me.

Cruyff comparing China to the UAE is pretty funny and misguided.

he was talking about how all the evidence on the net against the shiekh wasn't fact a few pages ago but feels fine using the same resource to slate SC.

Don't expect any answers from Cruyff - he's happy to ask questions but rarely answers them :)

While at the same time denyning Sheikh Mansour has done anything wrong and accusing LFC of basically funding ISIS.

They are a special breed those City fans, that much is certain.

Boj, you're better than this. Latching onto a losing cause.
I don't understand how people think it's appropriate to defend serial human rights abusers by deflecting.

These people are scum and are every bit as bad as the worst dictators in history.

The 2 wrongs make a right argument is kindergarten shit

I wasnt talking about that at all.

I was saying that none of the links WC provided implicates Mansour in human rights abuses or slavery.

Just calls for him to do more about the issues in UAE.

You're just flat out lying now.
