That makes sense. I visited OT for the 2006 FA Cup semi vs Chelsea. At the time it was being expanded. There is plenty of open space to build a new stadium while operating the old shittip unlike at Spurs & Chelsea if it ever happens.

My impression was the 1.5bn commitment was meant for a new stadium.

It was reported that they had to spend a guaranteed £1.75b, on any area of the club. We've already got new projects happening at Cobham as well as at our other ground Kingsmeadow. Its quite possible they'll put more than that into the club.

The stadium news is great for fans.
