Craven Cottage is a beautiful ground.

I love Loftus Road as well.
Agreed, used to go watch Fulham a fair bit when I lived in Chiswick. Rarely sold out so could just turn up and pay £20 entry for the championship and could always get decent seats.

First renders of the Elland Road upgrade just released.

56,500 capacity. Will slot between the Emirates and the Etihad in capacity.

A retractable roof and pitch in Madrid seems like overkill.

Reminds me of when people were demanding a closed roof stadium in Adelaide.

We live in literally one of the driest places on Earth, it’s sunny 10 months of the year, what is the f***ing point?
Assume it's for the heat, but it does get cold in winter.

Goodison to be retained as a home for Everton's womens team. It seems strange in a couple of ways. Recent attendances don't justify playing in a 39,572 stadium. Brighton - 843. Crystal Palace - 754. Arsenal - 1.613. If the plan is to significantly grow the women's team why wouldn't they have them play at Bramley-Moore?

I like it, stadiums cost a fortune, we should be maintaining them, not demolishing them for a hundred townhouses.

U21’s, Womens, Youth teams can all play there and get embedded with the history.

You can play county non league finals etc there.

Everton can earn revenue if any regional team does a stadium development and needs a temp home etc.

Similar to what the Melbourne clubs have done with their VFL grounds, but on a larger scale.

It also costs a fortune to run and maintain a large stadium. You are looking at several millions of pounds per year.

None of the comps you mentioned would be revenue generating. For example, the women's team attendances are in the hundreds despite free entry for season ticket holders of the men's team.

I suspect it's more about some financial shenanigans. Will they do a Chelsea and sell the women's team and 'their stadium' at an overvaluation to another part of the organisation to gain a PSR advantage?

There's rumours of an Emirates redevelopment in the works... seems a bit premature as it's only 20 years old.

Capacity boosted to 70,000 and, crucially, the stands will apparently be re-built closer to the pitch. Going to take some inspiration from SoFi Stadium in LA if the rumours are true.

Would require us to spend a couple of seasons playing out of Wembley.

You have to wonder if 2 seasons away from Emirates is worth it after you factor in stadium upgrade costs, loss of matchday revenue, cost of relocation to Wembley. And then there's other issues not cost related like how will the team react to playing out of Wembley permanently.

By the time the club is in the blue from that equation it could be well down the track and time for another upgrade!

2 seasons away from home for a minor upgrade is a big ask.
