As I said there was no avalanche of departures from the blocks I'm talking about.
I heard the Magpie supporters roaring loud and proud after the game, and much as I disliked it their team had earned the win.

yep. my language should probably have toned down, so I apologise for bagging fellow purples, but it was noticeable. Also noticed on the news our average crowd numbers have been higher than the eagles so far this season.:)

Has Crumpet Face started reporting on crowd sizes?

Not even close to being true.

Not including the WD: Freo has averaged 32464 per game (34638, rd 1, being the highest); West Coast has averaged 37951.

If you insist on driving maybe parking in east perth is more your favour ie the WACA or even crown casino.
Insist? How else are country people going to get there, Einstein?

You might need to check the website reginald if you consider your circumstance to be exceptional. There is a large carpark for individuals requiring universal access, and 2 overflow carparks on the 2 external ovals.

Tell that to Channel 10, coz they put it up before the sport last night. I was surprised

i drive up from denmark regularly
often i get there just as the ball is bounced
i had a good parking spot that was luckily always vacant just a small walk from the ground
lately ive been driving to the cockburn station and jumping on the train
do you city people think it will be easier to get on the train at cockburn for the new stadium and go through the city ,or get on at armadale and go direct to the new stadium?

If you actually spend your ready's to go to the game as opposed to sitting at home and watching the second rate coverage on the box as a get of your arse and get to the ground punter you have every right to leave the ground when ever the **ck you feel like it.

I drive up from the S-W and either park the motorbike at Domain or park the car at the railway station and jump on a train.
Don't imagine much will change with the new stadium.

Be about the same I reckon in terms of time. From Cockburn there are fewer stops but you'll need to change trains at Perth City. Armadale is one of the old historic lines with lots of stops, even if it runs express from Cannington to the stadium. Probably try both and see which is easiest for leaving the stadium and getting out of there.

It'll probably depend on how often they run trains to the stadium from the city. If they keep it every 15 minutes like they do at the moment for Subi then I'd say just go to Armadale.

As part of the $300M transport spending they are upgrading the signals over that stretch to allow trains to run at 2 minute intervals. Should get a much better frequency than once every 15 minutes.

I'm guessing you are not planning on driving back.
Haha
Don't know how many times I've said to my son as we go through Armadale
"just pull in the maccas carpark we should be able to bet some drugs within a few minutes, "
joking around of course
It's almost become a "dad joke"
Tell you what , sometimes I pull into HJ's or maccas down there in the way home and say
" this place is the end of the world "
Almost dad joke status as well

Feck, you are brave!

Is there any official announcement yet of whether there will be any guided tours of the stadium and from when?

What will there be to look at at the venue, apart from an empty new stadium? Is there a date set for when construction will be completed?

Will the pedestrian bridge over the Swan River be accessable earlier? Will it have great views of the city, river and surrounding area?

I heard they're opening it up for a weekend to the public for free. Not sure when but would likely be Jan-Feb 2018.

You'll be able to work out where your seats are check out the bars and restaurants etc. Go the to viewing platform bar on the top tier.

They did a public open weekend for the Perth Arena when it first opened. Got to walk around the place, behind the stage, players dressing rooms for the basketball and tennis, a couple of the corporate boxes were open for inspection (about the only time I'll ever be inside one)... that sort of thing They were talking about doing a similar thing for the stadium.

There was some token entertainment in the middle at times. Some stunt motorcycles when I was there. (Plus some bands in one of the function rooms, my mate's sister was playing in one of them, which is why I was there in the first place).
