My previous thread got closed but this is exactly what im talking about.

Deep in last quarter, game on line, get ball, nowhere to go, look for free.

The AFL have an obligation to do something about that kind of staging. I'd love for them to start fining players as a bare minimum. At least name and shame. Don't let them just get away with it. The really sad part is he got a goal from that cheap play. Anyway it seems like the AFL are happy to take a weak, non responsive stance on this issue so it will keep occurring until they change the way they administer the game.

As for Lindsay Thomas - yeah no respect for him.

he accentuated it a bit, but the contact was high.

By far not the worst one he's done
I agree he's done worse, but it was only high because he dropped his body towards the ground.

You can see in that footage that Winders' hand would've landed on the chest, which is fair game.

I insulted him like never before in that moment, I couldn't hold it in. ****ing campaigner!

There is something you can do.. start fining players for first and second warnings.. and then 1 week suspension for third offence.. and then 3 weeks for fourth offence and so on.

Players will soon get the idea.. would stamp out the staging almost overnight. Yes you can't stop it all the time.. but it has become an ugly blight on the game and needs to be addressed.

What, and risk suspending two AFL posterboys (J Selwood & Goodes)?

Ha!

Look at it closer. As soon as he gets the ball his left knee buckles prior to tackle and he pretty much throws himself forward. He knew exactly what he was doing.

You cant defend against that unless you dont tackle.

Gus used to do a similar thing with us.

Yep

Then he seems to slip, or I dunno? Certainly not manufacture a free kick, like a weak little dog.

Ha!

But if they create a rule that Goodes doesn't like, we can give him an OBE and some sort of medal, and we can talk about all the adversity he's overcome like not being able to cheat for free kicks and being paid only 9.8% above market value.

He deserves a proper old fashioned coat-hanger. Should go play soccer the weak campaigner.

Smash a few noses Foley-style and they might stop.

Players have staged since 1861 - I reckon staging was worse in the 1970's - At the end of the days it depends how smart the umpires are in adjudicating decisions.

Accentuated, yes. But just like his 'dive,' it was there.

We feel your pain though, we've lost games to both WC and Geelong thanks to the very same ducking technique used by Selwoods, Shuey etc.
