What would you guys think if we picked him up. Could be a handy forward even if Fish stays. Can kick multiple goals and has proven he can go onto a wing and be damaging. Was intersted in him from the get go. Your thoughts?

Yep i woudnt want to trade picks. Straight player swap..diffenrent story
I think they rate him pretty highly in the West when he's on song so I doubt they'd let him go for anything less than a pretty good player - and to be honest I wouldn't be willing to give up a pretty good player to get Staker.

Totally agree Tarks, if only he did that more than two or three times a year.
Very true, but imagine giving up a 4th round pick, he has a heap of potential and could get a kick up the butt and start to perform.

Personally I would not be shocked if he went to another club and showed a heap more consistancy. If we drafted him with our 4th round pick, it would not be the worst pick ever.

Whilst not having seem heaps of him my instict is that he would be a good pick up. Having said this would be very surprised if WC were interested in letting him go.

I had a look at his profile, can't believe he's 196cm / 96kg, thought he was smaller. Anyway we could always use another 100 gamer with that height and he's only 24 3mths, so age is not a problem. All comes down to what it would cost us to get him.

i dont like staker.
dont think hes good enough to build a side around.
hes not right for carlton i dont think

Trust me you don't recruit players pick 50+ with the thought of building a team around them. They are role players or project players (normally).

Staker has the ability to play a number of roles, Midfield, forward and back.
Not saying he is a world beater in any one of these positions, but still adds depth to a number of positions.

He looks best on the wings and unfortunately in his early years at the eagles they had a heap of midfield depth and Staker was not used to the best of his abilities.

A change of club may do this kid the world of good, you could do a lot worse than Staker around 50+ in the draft.

We're at a stage in our team building process where we can afford to take a chance with someone like Staker. Throw a late pick at the Eagles and see if they'll let him go.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think he'd improve our structure a little.

staker just re-signed for two years about a month back. if you want him the eagles will want top dollar, by that i mean they will demand a 2nd round pick.
