Anyone else see in The Worst on Saturday that Staker has put contract negotiations firmly on hold, despite the Eagles putting a firm contract offer on the table?

Offer him 2 with an option for a third if he meets certain performance criteria in terms of games played and form in the first 2 years. Do the same with Kerr. 3 years with an option for a fourth if he is performing as required for the money that he is going to be on.

I really think that that is the best option. Protects the club, incentivizes the player and rewards him if he performs at the level required.

TRADE BAIT

- send clubs the ST KILDA game, and see what they come back with:thumbsu:
Agree JTGM.
I cant think of a position where he cant be replaced in the team.
Therfor he is not a cemented player, eg COX, GLASS, KERR, WATERS.

I think offer him to melbourne for there PP see what they think.:thumbsu:

He's not worth a 3 year deal, way to inconsistent. 2 year performance based contract for an additional year extension is the way to go. If not trade him to the Bulldogs with Pick 20 for their first rounder.

bad news exspecilay with his season already being over. We have put alot of faith in him lets hope that he repays us

When are some of you going to learn to not believe everything you read or hear in media circles. Hasn't what has been said about Benny Mac wanting to come home taught you anything. The only people that know exactly what's going on within the club are the club themselves. If Gary Stocks writes it on the website then it's fact anything else is pure assumption. I know some of you hate him especially the above poster but if he leaves we are going to regret it just like we did when Jason Ball left. A lot of you on here booed him at games and wanted him to go. He did and guess what he helped Sydney beat us in the 2005 Grand Final. I hope he stays and until I hear anything official from the club I'm going to assume he is.

If the club didn't want to keep him they wouldnt be speaking to him AT ALL. ;) (thats if there is any talking in the first place and not just another rumor or media play!)

If there is, that to me suggest they want to come up with an agreement, like all deals (well they say all good deals!) you aim high and see how you go, Staker wants a three year deal, the club wants, we dont even know, from here a deal is made. :thumbsu:

You dont go speaking to a player about a contract and then go, well since you are being difficult l dont want to deal with you and we are going to use you in a trade.

If there has been talks to me suggest the club see something in him, so you can dislike him and want him to leave but from what has been said about 'talks of a contract' the club YOU support wants to keep him. ;)

He was at the game on saturday but then a lot of our injuried players were as well. They were there for Brauny's last game in Melbourne as he won't play at Geelong. Matt Rosa and Beau Waters were the other two that I seen. Everyone knows I'm a Badger fan but loyalty to one of my favourite players has nothing whats so ever to do with what I posted today. I am going to watch him play even if he isn't with us anymore just like I did when Bally left. I'm lucky enough to be able to talk to the players at training and aftermatches and get to know them well. I've been talking to Badger since before he even played his first match. I met him at Millie's farewell in Perth years ago. He is a top person and I hope he stays because even though some people don't agree he does have talent and was being more consistent before he received his injury.:) I'm also going to go watch Cuzzy at another club if that happens hopefully it's not Collingwood. I'm Blue and Gold through and through but I'm also loyal to my favourites and no I'm not a stalker. I can't wait till the end of this season for trades and contracts to be done so that then if he stays people might back off him at little, but that's not going to happen unless pigs fly.

So did Staker.:p

Only joking, I like Staker and hope he stays with us. I think he will.

He was traded for draft picks 11 & 41.

They were used to acquire Darren Glass and Kane Munro.

With all due respect, we wouldnt have made a GF without Glass - still our only top line tall defender.

It was a decent trade and if we can trade Staker for a pick that turns into an All Australian key defender in a premiership year, I wont mind if he becomes a back up ruckman who plays 90 games for an opponent.

ive heard heaps of people say he lost us the grand final in 2005. dont have the best memory of the game can som1 tell me what he did.

From memory, he took a mark just outside our forward fifty. Chose to handball basically to the opposition, who went up the other end and Buchanan? kicked the winning goal, we pretty much had all the momentum at that point:thumbsdown:

Unfortunately, I dont see any team parting with a first round pick (even Freo) for Staker
PP not a first rounder.
Its a 2nd Rounder, Also they are looking for experianced players that wont ask for a massive contract and thats really Staker a good player that han't hit his straps fully yet and at the moment he wouldnt comand more the n 300k a year if he does he is way over priced as I am being generous.
