CARLTON development coach Brent Stanton will get his opportunity to step up into an assistant role under caretaker coach David Teague.

With Teague leaving his post as the assistant coach for the forward line in taking on the caretaker position, Stanton had his first taste on the weekend in working alongside assistant coach John Barker to manage the midfield group.

IIRC he was renowned for his professionalism and work ethic.

Not the toughest guy on the field, but a hard worker, hard runner and got the most out of the talent he had.

As an outside runner i can see him being good for guys like LOB & SPS in particular.
But maybe he's just got a really good footy brain a bit like Teague.

If anything that the club has told Teague that he'll be at the club regardless of who the head coach is. Similar to Barker in 2015.
