There are rumours sweeping around Victoria recently, with a big name recruit or 2 on the cards. It has been suggested one player is very keen on a move to the 'G at the seasons end and another coming across who was a trade target during the current period.
A spokesman said "They both have been a priority to sign for a while now and we are close on signing one at the seasons end with another yet to weigh up his options."
Both are regarded as gun bats in both teams.

In a not totally unrelated story rumours are circulating in the incestuous BFFC community that the Allies have already designated which 2 players that they wish to bring over to the powerhouse club to continue their policy of picking up star names every close season to keep them at the forefront of the league.

Informed sources are clear in their minds that a Victoria opening bat(not the miserable one) & disenchanted DE middle order bat YOTC are the the 2 young guns for whom the Allies are willing to open their already overused chequebook to entice over to the Baggy Pinks.

It reamains to be seen if the arrogant vulture club can succesfully pick at the carcusses of rival clubs for the 3rd close season in a row but they know that their trump cards are a gaurantee of challenging for honours plus a track record of already champion players moving onto a higher level due to astute man managing added to the mythically inspirational qualities of the Baggy Pink.

Allies captain Dipper would only say that 'in my experience everyone has their price.....well stmookeyj didn't & nor did Rickets.....but everyone else has & if they don't then they shouldn't be at the Allies anyway. We don't go much for those loyal types at our club.'[/quote]

Why wouldn't star bats want to join the Vics, we're on the up after being on the scrapheap last year.

As for Barts joining the allies, he's a Vic through and through. He won't need to join the Allies for success as we'll have our own.

After learning about Dipper's comments of a journo, he had this to say. "Look nobody has spoken to me about it. I guess the rumours are just an attempt to put me off my game against his team".
Barts also commented that he is looking forward to the upcoming SoO with his intentions to stamp his authority on the competition as one of the game's leading batsman. "I am determined to put up good numbers in the State of Origin and push my case for international selection. If I can achieve all these goals, especially this season, I'll be a very happy man".
