Lucas. There are no words.
On the commentary soundtrack to the 2004 DVD release of Star Wars, writer and director George Lucas describes R2-D2 as "the main driving force of the movie … what you say in the movie business is the MacGuffin … the object of everybody's search".[9] In TV interviews, Hitchcock defined a MacGuffin as the object around which the plot revolves, but as to what that object specifically is, he declared, "the audience don't care".[10] Lucas, on the other hand, believes that the MacGuffin should be powerful and that "the audience should care about it almost as much as the duelling heroes and villains on-screen"
LOL. I think Lucas should change his name by deed poll to George MacGuffin.

Not at all. It served no purpose to the story afterward. No one was ever after C3PO for information, etc. And if anything, you'd think R2D2 would be far more valuable to capture and get information out of than C3PO.
Yeah but with R2 you'd actually have to go to some effort to retrieve the information and he'd probably wipe or burn out his own memory to stop you, if you didn't get electrocuted along the way, 3PO would just blab without thinking, think how quickly he revealed to Luke that he and R2 had been in service to the Rebels and he even considered the Lars family his new masters even though he been stolen, way to show loyalty.

Good point.

Man with no name is a man with no shame but he can maintain the flame without seeming the need to maim, or act lame, tame or express the fame.

The man with no name, he came.

May the name be with you.

And remember he got his memory wiped because just like when he met Luke he couldn't stop talking about what he had been through. There was a reason why 3PO wasn;t let in on Lukes plan with Jabba
Which is a shame. Cos he showed he was an awesome story teller in Return of the Jedi. And he did all the voices.
Ewoks were enthralled.

The problem was he'd tell his story to whomever glanced in his general direction.

I'm deeply confused. Which is unusual for me.

Stench? Yoda's home it is!
Im a bit confused about Dagobah. Its a planet that serves as Yoda's home but its also part of the Dagobah system. I kinda remember Luke saying to R2 to set the course for the Dagobah system.
What is a system? Is it like our version of a galaxy? A star system?
Whatever it is it does look swampy and fetid. Especially with all those swamp slugs and sleens like the one Luke saw in the cave of destiny.
I am glad we live on planet Earth in the Earth system.

A lot of the Star Systems in Star Wars are named after the primary planet in the system or the Star.

Dagobah might be the only habitable planet orbiting the star "Dagobah" and so is just known as Dagobah even though it might be Dagobah III ect.
