However, Lumpawarroo argues there’s no in-film reason why Jar Jar could not still be the ultimate villain of the piece. That’s where the proposition goes from interesting fan theory to full-on wackiness.

“It stands to reason that one of [Disney’s] primary goals will be to reinvigorate and ultimately try to redeem the prequels in the eyes of the fanbase,” Lumpawarroo concludes. “If you are able to somehow change the nature of Jar Jar from embarrassing idiot to jaw-dropping villain, suddenly the entire prequel trilogy must be seen in a new light, because it becomes the setup for the most astounding reveal in film history: Jar Jar Binks is Supreme Leader Snoke!”

Lucas is no longer involved with Star Wars, and if director/co-writer JJ Abrams could pull Binks-as-Snoke without the audiences collapsing in hysterical laughter followed by cinema-destroying rage, then he would, indeed, be the master storyteller of our age.

Is Darth Plagueis going to be in The Force Awakens?

I’ve recently heard a pretty convincing rumor going around that I thought I’d share with you guys. While listening to the most recent episode of Jedi Alliance, they said that most likely we’ll be seeing Darth Plagueis show up in Episode VII. If you remember Senator Palpatine’s speech to Anakin in Episode III, it was revealed that Plagueis was a Sith Lord who had cheated death. His return in this film would be a great way to bridge that gap between the prequels and the se-sequels. So, what evidence do we have that he’d be featured in this film? I’m glad you asked.

First of all, we have Rey’s staff. Throughout the two trailers that we’ve seen, Daisy Ridley’s character has been avoiding incoming shots from Tie Fighters and holding on for her dear life to that staff. We already get that she’s a scavenger, likely she just found it in her travels; but what makes it so important? Well, maybe because it belonged to ancient Force Wielder?

As you can see from the image above, the staffs match. When editing a trailer, you pick each shot very meticulously. They wouldn’t have showed it off if it didn’t have some matter of significance.

Next, we have the Episode VII panel that just happened at Comic Con. A fan went up to ask writer of The Force Awakens, Lawrence Kasdan, if there were any connection to Rey’s staff and the one owned by Darth Plagueis. He replied, “Darth Vegas? I think you mean Darth Vader.” Director J. J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy looked a little put off and the question was brushed off. You could tell that they were a bit shaken by the question. Understandably so with everyone shown at SDCC getting leaked by people this year. The reveal of such an integral and secretive character to the plot, would be upsetting to the people behind it and the fans.

Finally, we have Andy Serkis playing Supreme Leader Snoke. Your immediate thought is that this character will be the leader of The New Order. Leader is in his name. Yet, we also have only seen Serkis in a motion-capture suit. We know that his character is going to be at least party CGI, and given the look of Plagueis, it doesn’t seem a normal human being could play him, save possibly Doug Jones. Snoke could certainly be his front, much like Palpatine was the front for Darth Sidious.

Obviously this is just one fans theory, but I think at this point, we have a lot of evidence pointing towards another Sith being in this film. If we stuck to the Rule of Two, it would be great to see Plagueis and Kylo Ren as Master and Apprentice.
