Another example -- because Carrie Fisher passed away suddenly, again "Kylo" will be used, scapegoated, to kill off another OT character.

Not yet. I'll wait till it actually releases. Like last time (R1/TFA) I'll have to once again find an opportune time when I can sneak in alone, sit by lonesome, and can whisk out again without the mocking glare of humanity that I didn't go with a "special someone".
Mate, chill. I watch plenty of movies on my own, the judgement is in your head

Sorry ill stop going on about it.....after this post :p

Just not in my head. Comments like...

Just one ticket? Ohhhhh
You by yourself? Ohhhhh
Is this seat taken? Ohhhhh
No one come with you, don't you have a girlfriend? Ohhhhh

Don't you get those comments at all when you guys go alone? I constantly do.

Maybe because I consciously worry about it, people notice more and make a mockery of it more.

Kinda like if you act all awkward at the pharmacy buying some sexual product, people snicker more.

Anyway I'll stop now. Let's get back to SW :)

Really? I've never had someone question if I'm only buying one ticket, or ask if I'm saving a seat for my partner. Just seems an unfortunate couple of comments that have built into your pre-existing feelings.

Don't think I've ever had anyone talk to me when I'm at the movies by myself.

Just one ticket? - I could imagine the person in the ticket booth (not that there are ticket booths) asking this to confirm your order.

You by yourself? - I could imagine somebody asking this if they wanted to sit in the seat next to you.

Is this seat taken? - Same as above.

No one come with you, don't you have a girlfriend? - This one I just have trouble believing. It's a random comment and completely rude asking a stranger that (unless it was a girl hitting on you and asking if you were available).

If you're comfortable and confident going by yourself, which there's absolutely no reason not to be, but everyone's different, then comments like that shouldn't mean much. My old man goes to the movies by himself all the time. Don't think he's ever had a negative comment directed at him. He'll even go to the pub next door by himself and have a meal and a drink. Not everybody in the world has a partner and sometimes mates don't have the same interests or the same passion.
I've got one mate that normally does the midnight screenings with me, but I went to one of them by myself. Had the day off after midnight screening of R1 and went back down the next day by myself to watch it again. Got other mates that like Star Wars but not enough to do a midnight session or go see it 3-4 times. My partner can take or leave Star Wars. She came to see TFA with me at Imax (although I think it was more to do with our son going) and would never go to a midnight session. Everyone's different, it's no biggie.

I love going to see a movie by myself when i can, find it relaxing.

But seriously, no one in the theatre cares. I have a girlfriend, but whenever she says she doesnt want to see a particular movie i silently fist pump as i can then see it by myself and enjoy it.

Although I'm seeing TLJ with friends at midnight, I went to the force awakens midnight screening by myself, and that shit was PACKED. Anyone care? Did i get any looks? Nope, everyone was just super pumped to see Star Wars surrounded by other super pumped Star Wars fans. Had a great night.

If you're that concerned. Go to a Hoyts who have super big seats (you literally cant see the row in front or behind) and book your ticket online literally 5 mins before the movie starts, so you get to choose a seat as far away from anyone as possible.

The other thing I hate doing in cinemas is laughing out loud, especially if you're one of the few or only one who laughs among the people around you.

I just sit there like a statue, unable to make a noise, move a muscle, make any expression, lest i be ridiculed.

But just on going alone....again, sure you all get away with it, and many people go alone, but it's like when I do it, people make an effort to notice, say things, snicker, whisper and point, etc. And honestly, I walk in cool as a cucumber, and act like it's normal. But soon it all starts (the comments, etc) and it gradually breaks me down to a self-conscious mess.

What's that explosion Poe is looking at in that new tv spot?
---------
It's the Dreadnought. Poe is only in his X-Wing for the D'Qar evacuation and he hasn't even met Paige yet (nor does the audience know she is Rose's sister). It's probably a realisation that although he is doing right by the Resistance he has just paved the way for the loss of a few hundred souls.

My special someone is 10 wicked wings, a bacon zinger burger and gallons of coke. I walk out 4 kgs heavier, with a greasy chin and a star wars chubby
Do it....
