If you thought the last one was too similar you really won't have to worry with this one. I think fans will have a problem with how different it is. It makes you look at all the other movies differently and I feel like that won't sit right with some people. The lightsaber fights are fine.. I haven't actually seen the movie I just know what happens in it so the visuals are unknown to me. But there's a total of 2 (technically 3) of them and they're all kind of unique in their own way
----------------
  1. Ok so there is a casino city called Canto Bight that Finn and a new character Rose break into to find out where Snokes ship is. These people are paying Snoke to be kept safe from the First Order and for them not to get attacked, and they send their money directly to him so Finn and Rose are trying to figure out where that money is going. The city is walled and heavily guarded on land so they hijack a water speeder and land on the shore to break into the city and meet up with a person that Maz from the other movie tells them about. They initially go underground in the sewer area to meet a guy that Finn was told about that is a hacker and that ends up being DJ. Basically it ends up being a casino heist, the plan is DJ gets arrested for "cheating" at the casino and goes to jail, then Finn and Rose break out these horse-like racing creatures called Fathiers out into the city causing a ruckus making all of the police leave the station trying to round them up and protect people from them. It makes DJ unguarded so he gets the help of the other prisoners to break out of the jail cell and he hacks the security from the police station to find out the location where they're sending their money which ultimately leads them to Snokes ship. DJ's name isn't said because he's that shady type of character. There's specifically a line where Finn is talking to Rose in front of DJ skeptical about DJ and he's like "Does he even have a name?" and DJ is like "Does it matter?" So he's just that kind of shady person that's there to do his job and nothing more. He only tolerates Rose and Finn but you can tell he's just there to make money and not make it personal not even sharing his name.

  2. The tree is the real first Jedi temple. There's a first Jedi temple that we think is the first Jedi temple for a portion of the story but then we find out it's not and that this tree is really it. There's some backstory explained but basically the books are called the journal of the Whills and the Whills are a group of beings that escaped a flood on the planet thousands of years ago and were the very first to discover the light side and the dark side and create the Jedi. Now this is where the real twist is and I don't want to go spoiling it just yet because it requires some backstory that's explained in another scene earlier in the story. But yea the books are kind of like a bible/diary type of thing for the people who created the Jedi.
------------------------------

Earlier in the film there's a moment where the first Order arrives on the planet Rey and Luke are on (called Ahch-To) and they chase the Millennium Falcon into the water into the ocean and the tie fighters chasing them crash into each other. It makes the thrusters on the M Falcon fail so they can't go anywhere and there's holes in it from these birds that eat metal called porgs from earlier in the story so they start sinking into the ocean and water starts filling up inside of it. Rey and Chewbacca end up fixing it but but they hit the ocean floor and on the ocean floor is a bunch of ancient monuments and villages and stuff. Basically there were a bunch of aliens called Whills that used the light side and the dark side of the force together. then there was a flood caused by an unknown force and a group of the Whills were told to make a temple on the peak of the tallest mountain to keep themselves alive. So they did that and that's where they discovered the light side, dark side, the jedi etc... And that's where Luke is trying to go. So Luke pulls out this compass that he has and a crystal around his neck and closes his eyes and rey looks out of the falcon and its flying through the water past all these monuments in the direction the compass is pointing. They wash up on shore and while theyre stranded there's a part where Rey goes into a cave and stands on this symbol and she falls through and sees a bunch of stuff like Han and Leia giving ben to Luke and Ben burning down his temple and the back of a cloaked figure walking into the fire of the burnt temple. But the sparks of the fire end up making a bunch of light orbs surrounding her and they have the voices of Yoda and obi wan kenobi and others telling her not to trust luke because hes lying to her. So she doesnt tell Luke about this at first and later in the story they end up finding the first Jedi temple and it's just a bunch of huts and nothing else. Rey ends up stealing the compass and the crystal and findinng out the compass is still pointing the direction and that they haven't actually found the first Jedi temple. She ends up almost killing Luke by blowing up one of the huts and takes the compass to go find it herself. She does it and eventually she finds this tree with these books in it. She looks in the books and finds out that it wasn't a group of Whills that escaped the flood and created the jedi it was only one of them, and that he didn't escape the flood but he caused it and killed everyone on the planet and he made up all this stuff about the jedi, the light side, the dark side and the chosen one. Baiscally there is no light side or dark side and the people that use "the dark side" are just using the force for hate and people who use "the light side" are just using the force for good. There is just the force and no sides to it if that makes sense. Any side of the force your on is just in youre head. So if you haven't guessed the Whill that did all of it is Snoke and the whole dark/light side thing is like propaganda for him to get money from the force. He makes a fake religion out of it so he can exploit people with natural force abilities convincing them they're the chosen one and the dark side will make them stronger and they'll bring balance to the force when its really all bs and he's using their power to enforce his power to make money which we see an example of in the canto bight stuff. That's the main twist as short as I could put it.

-------------------------------------

I got few questions about Kylo.

  • Is he going to have a convo with Leia in real time, not flashbacks?

  • Whar happened at Luke's Jedi temple? Who and what lead him to downfall of Ben Solo and turn to the dark side?

  • Does he and Rey work together, fight Praetorian Guards? Red creepy looking characters.

  • What is the nature of their relationship as Kylo and Rey.

  • Where they as Kylo and Rey are at end of the movie?
    1. Yea he talks to Leia on Crait but it's after he turns good and he essentially says that she was right and he's sorry and she tells him to go protect the rest of the Resistance and not her

    2. So Luke didn't tell Ben that Darth Vader was his grandfather.. Snoke told him about it first and told him that Luke was lying to him and that he was the Chosen One and he could bring balance to the force and Luke was the bad guy and hiding it from him. Once Ben learned the Darth Vader part was true and Luke was lying and Snoke was truthful he believed that he was the Chosen One and he could bring balance to the force and Luke didn't want that to happen so he went with Snoke and did what he said and turn against Luke. In the movie Ben learns that what Snoke told him about the Chosen One and balance was a lie and thats what makes him think for himself

    3. Yea Kylo brings Rey to Snoke in an attempt to trick him.. they fight the red guards but it ends up not working and Snoke gets away because an explosion from a bomb that was set on the ship by finn and Rose.

    4. I would say allys

    5. Kylo and Rey are together at the end of the movie. The last scene is them putting Lukes stuff on his grave on Ahch-to
------------------------------------------------------------------

Rey and her past isn't discussed as much as I thought it would be based on the last movie. There is a scene where they discuss it but it basically ends in "some people have bad childhoods/parents, don't let that stop you" and that's pretty much it

-------------------------------

Luke does not make it to Crait. He dies, after walking into a fire.

-------------------------------

Rey isnt Lukes daughter and nothing romantic happens between Rey and Kylo

------------------------------

Yes see my other comment about them, they come to an alliance and try to kill Snoke together but they are not romantic at the end of the story

-------------------------------

Re: Rose and Finn.....Yea there's a little bit but it's more like flirting, not a full romance

--------------------------------

1) Is Rey Skywalker a thing?

2) What's the relationship between Rey and Kylo like? If there is no romance does he help her or are they still enemies?

3) Will Leia die?

4) Do Rey and Kylo fight the Guards together?

5) Will Kylo turn good?

6) Who wins on Crait?

    1. Rey is not Lukes child, we don't know who her parents exactly are in the story

    2. Once Kylo makes it to the first jedi temple and learns about Snoke and that he's not the chosen one and snoke has been using him he teams with Rey and takes her to Snoke and pretend he captured her so they can try to kill snoke. They don't have romance in any way but they are an alliance the best way I could describe it.

    3. Leias fate is open ended at the end of this.. the base on Crait collapses but it's not explicit if she made it out or not

    4. Yea see my other response

    5. Yes

    6. The First Order wins on Crait, the resistance just barely escape at the end of it
---------------------------------------

Sounds like convoluted fanfic bro, why does the force ghosts tell Rey to no trust Luke if he buys it by the end.

Seems like your taking some bits and pieces from the most hot leaks in the past month and your augumenting it with your own BS

  • They tell her not to trust him because he's lying to her about where the first jedi temple is

what the heck is going on with the actors here?

Mark Hamill looks like he's zoned out into another universe. Someone mentioned John Boyega was fighting not to fall asleep. At other times, they look mad or irritated. And in the one Facebook Live Q&A the other day, they were all acting goofy and mumbling like they were drunk. I'm not sure what to make of this WEIRD behavior.

Around the 16:00 minute mark, Rian answers a very good comment about how he shot the film and parallels to TESB. Him basically saying, he drew inspiration from TESB cinematography-wise from it, but also veered away from it, because he didn't want to do a pre-set SW formula (in terms of visuals), he wanted to be personally invested in TLJ and so he just focused on shooting TLJ like he would any other film of his, so there's a lot of camera movements and weird shots etc.

And about the 25 min mark, Rian says TFA and TLJ are not stories from the eyes of the droids like the OT was. And then Daisy adds very well how in TLJ everything that happens is on screen, you follow every single character, they ask questions on screen and get answers on screen, and the viewer therefore is very invested in every single character, have innate compassion for every character, both dark and light, because you're seeing their characters evolve and devolve as it happens, etc.

I thought this was the absolute best interview to date. The questions are really good, and many of the responses are awesome. They're obviously all exhausted, but I did not at all see any weirdness from them, they were all enthused in their responses, and gave great depth to their replies.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI - OPENING SCENE FIRST IMPRESSIONS

"A real rush."

BY ALEX OSBORN

Disney and Lucasfilm held a special screening in Tokyo to show members of the media the first 13 minutes of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. IGN Japan's chief editor Daniel Robson was among those who got to see the footage, and based on his impressions, it's quite intense.

"The opening scene is a real rush – the film kicks into bombastic action fast, and there is some humor in there too," Robson said on Twitter. He also had an opportunity to speak to Rian Johnson about the footage and said The Last Jedi director told him the film's opening "sets the tone for the whole movie."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15 and is tracking to outpace Beauty and the Beast to have the biggest debut of 2017 with a $200 million opening weekend.

There were a couple nice shots from JJ. Mainly the Jakku scenes. All of them. Rey/Finn day time. And Kylo/Poe night time. As well as the Kylo Rey/Finn fight in the snow and Kylo killing Han scene.

But there was a lot of uninspiring cinematography otherwise.

Even tho there was a lot of green screen, CGI backdrops, in the PT, there was a damn lot of great cinematography from Lucas.

I think Rian will blow us away in TLJ tho too.

Imagine if at the end of the movie we finally get a scene where Luke has to turn his lightsaber on, something the audience has been waiting 35 years for.....

....but its red.

People would literally lose their minds.
But it would make sense, turning to the dark side to beat his father would have put the hooks of it into his soul, he might have slowly turned
