I was just wondering how many people here like/hate Star Wars... I know that Dan25 is a fan, but is there any others? As for me... I'm a fan of Star Wars I have to admit, but not a fanatic. I have TPM on DVD, the triliogy on video (Special Edition), a handful of novels and some Star Wars models. That's it ;)

If you hate Star Wars then just think this:

At least it isn't as bad as the Pokemon abdomination :D

Have your say!

You only saw it for the first time a year ago??? WTF? What have you been doing?

Chooky,

If you sat down in a movie theatre, got out the popcorn, focussed all your attention on the screen and watched all 4 movies over a four-day period, I guarantee you would change your tune.

If you only saw it for the first time a year ago, then you really wouldn't know what you're talking about. I've got mate like you, and I forced him to sit through them all, and now he loves them as I knew he would!

Hmmm...

The only things I hate in Star Wars is:

1) Jar Jar Binks. I just couldn't stand him, I wanted to shoot him. :D He ruined Episode I... the "comic relief" is more of the lines of "annoying relief".

2) The actor who played Anakin. He was okay... until the space battle above Naboo unfolded. Would of been better if he didn't say anything in those scenes, like the fake "Woo-Hoo", and cheesy lines like "here we go", "Uh-oh", etc. I reckon the kid from Sixth Sense would have been a much better Anakin Skywalker, because he can act.

3) Ewoks. I'm really not into the "cutisy" part of movies... but they were more bearable than Jar Jar Binks, I'll tell you that! ;)

Apart from a few glitches, I really enjoy Star Wars... and like the novels. Dan25... I'd recommend you read Shadows of the Empire, the Zahn Triliogy and Darksaber. Best novels I've read so far...

I hate science fiction in general, but I have to admit that star wars kicks @rse (except the last one).

For anyone who doesn't like it, let me tell you this: I went and saw it at Hoyts in the Hay St Mall in 1977. At the time, it was bigger than Titanic, Jurassic Park and all those other so-called "big" films put together. In fact, Star Wars was what the Beatles were compared to the Beach Boys - it $hit on everything else.

Although by no means my favourite, it is the BIGGEST film of our generation. Miles ahead of its time.

And I'd love to root that Princess Leia. Whooooar!

I agree. I especially dislike their nerdy fans. Almost as annoying as those star treck twats.
That's an ignorant comment, M29. Star Wars is the most popular movie series in history. You dislike 90% of the civilized world I take it?

Here's a bit of trivia for you star wars buffs. My sister went out with the bloke who played C3PO (anthony daniels) for about 10 years.

he used to send me every christmas some sort of star wars paraphernalia signed, "dippers (well, my reaL name) may the force be with you, TD".

met him a couple of times, nice bloke he was too..

I didn't mind them when they first cames out, but as someone with Foxtel, after this past month or so I have to say I'm well and truly over the whole Star Wars thing. Back to back 27 times a day is just too much!!!!!!

See, you nerds get all defensive when someone criticizes you and your crappy "series". Oh and I'm sure 90% of the "civilized world" likes them.

Um, M29 Star Wars is the most watched movie of all time. Just because people like it doesn't make them "nerds."

I actually looked up the word in the dictionary:

nerd also nurd (nûrd)
A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.

Now, I'm sure everyone on this thread who like Star Wars (or Lord of the Rings) also likes footy and I'm sure we are all socially capable.

I mean, get a life, man. You've been watching high school frat movies way too much. Because Star Wars is the most watched movie of all-time, you are calling the entire world "nerds." Sounds to me like something you'd say in year 8 at school.

Ok, Geek.

This is hillarious, a Star Wars fan, of all people telling me to get a life! (as well as somebody with 6000+ posts to their name.) Your all like sheep, all defending your precious little movies.
I remember a skit martin molloy did a few years ago on radio with Star Wars and the amount of abusive phone calls they got was hillarious. Funnier than their original skit. You're all a parody of each other.
And what is a frat movie? Some american term I guess. Suprised you didn't use the term "College Frat Movies" seeing how you love american culture and all.
