Gieshen wont let Rocca get scragged like that agian. It always happes like that one player gets scragged one week the next they cant get touched. Why cant they just get it ####en right at the start.

Have not a clue who will start on Barry Hall.
Clement will not play, neither will Presty, Harry or Rhyce.
All reports say Jimmy's calf tear is not healing as well as we'd like, Presty has stress fractures so a two-week lay-off won't be long enough, Harry is obviously gone and Rhyce has a hammy that was only done on Saturday/Sunday so he should miss.
I'd go with:
FB: Stanley Maxwell H. Shaw
HB: Cox Wakelin Goldsack
Other options?
- Lonie is coming back this week for Willy, if he has a good run he might come straight back in.
- Nathan Brown?
- Throw Cloke down back if we're getting pumped?

Davis' work rate has been pretty good this year. But still, he wouldn't be able to cope with the amount of running that Shaw does.
I expect Roos will try and play Schneider and Buchanan rotating on Shaw in an attempt to keep him quiet and hopefully cause some damage the other way.
With so many of your experienced defenders likely to miss, Shaw looms as a key and I'm sure the Swans will be looking to limit his impact as best they can.

the others are basically short-arses.
so (assuming it's accurate) that was a bit surprising. All are about the same height as Wakes and only about an inch shorter than Presti.
Seems to me cox is probably the most physically strong of the new fellows and is also pretty fast and reliable so might be worth trying on Hall - goldsack might be a bit light for Hall so could work for O'loughlin. I imagine they'll try Wakelin on Hall first off but might be too slow on the lead. Maxwell seems to always get left behind on the lead lately also. Lonie could also be tried on either of those 2 or another of the forwards. So looking at the heights, the Presti loss doesn't look so bad after all, and Lonie and Wakes can provide the experience and moral support for the young blokes. With their speed and agility, most of the above could be thrown into mid/forward roles also which allows including them all and trying many different options (which you can't really do with specialist defenders like Presti - even Wakes can be a useful forward).
And as someone already suggested, Pendles at 190cm could be tried as a tall defender if all else fails and one of the Syd forwards is doing a Robbo.
Hall's height is a potential worry, maybe they need back-up plans like Fraser or Travis for Hall? And I wouldn't be surprised if they use goodes as a forward to try to exploit the current situation, which could be very dangerous with his height and obvious other attributes. Not so worried about Spider in that role since Fraser should cover him OK, or maybe even Bryan would work.
Not sure how Wakes seems to play so tall, since he doesn't seem to jump much - just experience and positioning I suppose. HOwever interesting to note that Darryl Wakelin is on the Port site at 192cm. I thought they were identical twins? Mistake or one of them's been eating his Weeties? Or they're actually exactly 191.5 cm?

Not sure if they're identical twins, but even if they are, that's no guarantee they'll end up the same height.
Cox is a must... while he was impressive in his first few games i thik he'll need to play a lot tighter than he did earlier..

Lets not get too carried away about Sydney's forward line. Its really not all that great. The key will be what happens in the middle. If we get beaten their like against Melbourne in the first half the backline won't be able to stop everything no matter who is their. We need to beat em in the middle first then worry about their rebounding from half back. This is the only way to win, worry about containing their forwards after we fail the first two tests at which point we will have lost anyway.

Hmm, this thread is good reading, and i must say that the general population of Collingwood fans on BF, are some of the better supporters here. Good work!
Anyway, i guess i should make a contribution to the gameday discussion, so here's a few of my thoughts.
While the Collingwood backline is severely depleted, that's gonna ammount to zilch for us if we don't atleast gain some sort of advantage through the midfield. Kirk will be his usual inspiring self, and i'm hoping Schmidt continues to improve on his recent form. Opposition fans probably don't know much about him, but he's looking good in the early stages of his career, a real natural footballer. As for Collingwood, we need to stop letting Lockyer have a field day against us, i'm pretty sure that he's racked up quite a few possies in the last two matches between the two respective teams.
On a different note, i've noticed that there's a few people here who doubt the efforts and commitment of Davis, and in some cases those doubts are valid, but he's a player who doesn't need to touch the ball too many times, to have a big impact on a game. In our match against the Hawks, he only had a handful of disposals, but managed to kick three goals straight, and seems to be able to slot them from anywhere, in a similar fashion to Neon Leon!
Of the other forwards, if Hall has another sooky game where he's looking for frees all night (even if his sooking is justified) then that's going to help the Pies immensely. Would cloke ever be tried on Hall? i know he's been playing up forward this year, and missing some easy shots on goals, but he's a great mark, so he came to mind when i thought about backline options for the Pies. I'd be interested to know if any of you guys think i could be onto something here, or just tell me if i have no idea what i'm talking about lol.
With the wet weather around Sydney lately, this game could be a slippery slogfest, and our record in the rain isn't flash, so i'm naturally praying for dry conditions, but if it does rain on saturday night, the team with the most simplistic game plan should take the points, but i can't see either side winning by more than 4 goals. I'm going to stick with the Swans, because 4th spot is up for grabs, and it's lift or bust this weekend really. Sydney by 14 points.
