What does everyone think of Billy Longer from Brisbane? He played pretty well during the NAB cup. Considering getting him in place of Stephenson

He'll probably be rested frequently but seems in line for a game 1 start. I don't think he'll be a great scorer but there are worse options.

Wouldn't do it (unless you're looking purely as a cash cow to try and sell off later). He'll probably tire like all 18 year olds playing the most physically demanding position on the ground would, and some games they'll prefer Hudson anyway to give Leuy more support.

I'm locking Orren in. I know a few people have been turned off by his low scores, but they should factor in that we only have 2 fit ruckmen and we know we therefore can't rest them in-season so we're doing it now, West and Orren have routinely been subbed on or off at half time. Secondly, with their injuries Vardy and Dawson will have to spend the better part of 3-4 months in rehab before they can even do full training let alone play, so it's going to be a big ask for them coming off that long run to dislodge Orren later in the year.

Stephenson and Giles give me rock solid JS throughout the year which is what I want from my bench rucks.

At the moment Cox and McEvoy, I'm still umming and ahhing over the other premiums but that's probably what I'll go with.

The old set and forget option, worked a treat for me in the past couple of years...ATM I'm on the one premium and 3 rookies.....not sure if I'm going to stick with it.

I can see why some people are thinking of the gamble this year with options like Giles and their JS. Tempts me but I still think I'll play it safe though.

since playing SC ive gone cox or sandi or both - this year abandoning both. at least thats what im saying today ;)

was going to go mcevoy, but now taken the radical step of hmac, giles with bolger & redden. of course all this might change by next week.
its nice adding an extra premium elsewhere on the field this year
i hope.

Still umming and ahhing over it, but currently looking like going:

Cox, Hale (Giles, Redden)

Cox because he's good at the football, Hale because he can go forward and kick goals and because Bailey is down.

Mumford + McIntosh at the moment with Giles & Redden on the bench.
At 365K I just think there's at least $150K upside to him, so I can then trade him in mid season straight for another premium, or he could even turn into a keeper.
At least, that's the plan.

I've gone with Sandilands & Kreuzer as my two rucks!
I know it could be a risk & there are safer options out there but these two can really turn it on & are quality players.

I've risked it all with Big K and Giles @ R2. Thought about the beast in Mummy but it came down to a choice between:

Mummy/Porps vs Kruezer/Danger. I went for the latter.

First season I ave left behind all the super bargains. My biggest gamble is on the upper tier mid pricers like Danger and Big K. If all the bargains in Lake, Porps, Hargraves fire, i'll personally slap God in the face. It'll be the only time I believe he exists!

Cox and Jacobs (McCauley and Giles)

Amazing...only four players but consuming SO much time

My current set up is Mumford and Kreuzer. Thinking of changing to Mummy and Giles. Someone persuade me with some pros and cons.

Giles should play every game as number 1 ruck. He will improve as the season goes on, but I wouldnt expect him to jump out of the blocks early.

Keuzer wont be playing as number 1 ruck once Warnock returns, and if he plays as a forward his scores will suffer. He will be very good for Carlton but not nessasarily for SC. Add that to the fact that he could get injured at any point and ruin your plans anyways.

That said, Kruezer will out score Giles comfortably.

But, It all comes down to how you spend the extra cash. It seems like your going a mid priced player and a rookie, so think about your options.

Will Kruezer score more than players like Dangerfield, Malceski, Hanley, etc? If so then go for it.
Otherwise stick with Giles, as he will score in and around the same price as other rookies his price.

For me, i'd go the Kreuzer option. He is just as likely to break out as anyone, and i'd rather set my ruck duo and leave it than spend the season trying to get it right.

Jacobs and Mumford (Giles, Redden)

Go with Giles. I don't understand all the hype for Kreuzer, he won't be the #1 ruck and unless he kicks goals, won't score that well. Giles could very well match him (68 points in 43 mins, 124 points in 89 mins, 23 in 25 in NAB looks good to me). Spend the money elsewhere and get a real premium ruck later.

You'd rather have Kreuzer all season while losing 20-40 points a week to those who have Cox/Mumford?

I think I'm the only one doing the COX/MUMMY double. It's a locked in 250-300 each week as far as I'm concerned at least for the first 8 weeks.

luey and hale with giles and redden as cover. with rowe on my forward bench.
depending on giles' selection i can put him in and switch hale into the forwards. i think this is a pretty decent plan as hale has destroyed the nab cup this year
